Frontside 5050 backside no comply out?
« on: July 26, 2022, 05:17:00 PM »
Who has done this? Been fucking around with it for the past few sessions after recently learning back 5050 frontside no comply out, but I haven’t really gotten close yet, it’s so awkward. Would love to see some examples.

Trying to picture the exact trick, you're trying to turn with the step hop trick are you not? Not 'just' put the foot down 34 style then straight dismount (which is easier but still may be tricky timing-wise to learn at first). I figure both of those should work the same except paired up with the typical b/s 180 upper body movement thrown in if you want to go with it but in practice seems easier said than done, the board really seemed prone to flipping the couple times I've tried a similar move before, because ideally you want to keep it flat with your back foot but the usual motion from grind position seems to instantly send the board off axis. So I figure that would be the main thing to learn mastering, probably something about an ideal posture prior to popping out but I have yet to experiment with that in detail.

I'm also trying to picture if you're trying to plant your foot on top of the ledge or dismount out of the 50-50 normally but then pop the 34 off flatground instantly as you land (I'm tempted to assume the former but the second version could work too, think 50-50 to manny except the manny is a 34).

This trick out of a frontside 5050 with the step off foot on top of the ledge.

Yeah so really similar to that one trick I was trying those few times, I can do the non 180 version out of f/s nosegrind and have tried turning with it like that before but my problem every single time has been the board starts flipping, maybe that's just on me lacking some frontside 50-50 backside 180 logic but I feel like back foot control has to be a thing. Maybe just learn them without the 180 first if you can't already do those then see if you can work that one up, maybe step hop shove out could be an intermediary step as well (but I've never even tried that before I don't think).

Haven't done it in mad long but it's way different to frontside. The way I'd go is 5050 then back no comply off the end of the ledge. Try to 5050 with your toes hanging off a bit and your shoulders really square and sort of keep turning as you get near the end of the ledge. When your at the end put your front foot down on-top of the ledge so your foot is completely backwards and your upper body also completely looking back. Then pop your board (should only be like a microsecond between stepping off and popping the tail) kinda scoop it (why it's easier with toes hanging off) and it's way easier of you do the type that goes thru your legs. Then just try land and roll away like you would any back 180 trick

@Mean salto is right, it's a weird setup for sure. i did front 50 back 3 no comply a few months ago and found it easiest to pop into a 5050 as you would normally then do a little hop to get into position. i think the 3 would be easier than the 180 personally.

I see you also put your step off foot right on the edge, I’ll give that a go this evening.

ty fellas, been wanting to film a legit one on a street spot but havent found an applicable spot yet :(

@mattchew yeah ive always taken quite a wide legged stance with the toes hanging off for the back 3 no complies, i've seen people do them from all sorts of positions but yeah if you can do back 180/back 3 no complies and front 5050s no reason you cant combine them. i think i started trying them as i'd been doing front 50 fs 180 no comply/no comply front shoves out, and thought of doing the opposite (back 50 bs no comply out) but those were kinda weird, so i started toying with front 50 back 3 out and it started making sense after 5/10 minutes.

i think the back 180 out would be more impressive as with the back 3 you can just kind of chuck it and pray for the best, if it comes up short you'll revert it but the 180 definitely takes more finesse.

seen a few clips of bs no comply back tails which i cant fathom. ive done a couple shoddy back 270 no comply front lips though.

Tried like 30 on Friday evening and this was one of the closest times. It’s so fucking sketchy coming out switch backside with a 6.5” bowl right when you land lol. It’s gonna go down soon though.

I landed such a crummy one yesterday lol bummed about the revert, but I definitely will pull a cleaner one soon, though I doubt it’ll be filmed. I am not really the type to battle tricks, and basically never film anything but I had to on this one because it took me like four or five hours over the course of six sessions and I was beginning to feel the madness tingle. I’m just happy I fell on to my board and rolled away from one  ;D also there was a brief moment where I thought the woman speaking in the background was actually in front of my phone and I was about to weep.

Sick, nah if anything the revert only indicates that you can pull a @cosmicgypsies and 360 out too, so that's in your reach (also maybe straight dismount with a backside body varial?). I can relate to focusing on the imperfection on ledge clips though, for the past week or so I've been skating nothing but ledges trying to learn new stuff too, and been equally obsessing over everything wrong in all my clips of pseudo-makes. But none of that really matters, sooner or later you'll run into the perfect spot for that trick where it will come easy and look good and you'll be golden.

So rad thanks for sharing. Big fan of these types of trick. I’ve never been good at them.  No comply anything for that matter.
