When I have it on hand, it is good stuff.

Whole Foods caters to yuppies who think that eating more expensive food is some how healthy, they do carry some good stuff, but they jack the price up so high that it is out of reach of people who should be eating healthy.

i don't know if it's really as expensive as you guys are saying. during the huricane i was staying at family in san antonio's and as a curtosy i cooked a lot for everyone and i did all my shopping at HEB. i hated every minute of it because the store was so big, the carts were literally double wides that fit two kids in them, asthetically it was a nightmare, it was busy as fuck and you could never find anyone that'd help you find shit. anyway, even with all the inconvinence i didn't really notice a big difference in how much i was spending. but maybe HEB is expensive also. i really have no idea, i don't bargin hunt for grocery's unless i'm out of work.

another thing though, my wife only eats fowl and seafood, no meat and whole foods is the only place i've found decent breakfast sausage, brats, anduie sausage, ect... that is made from fowl. and now that i know i can get good, healthy sausage there, that's kind of a huge thing to me.

but i have heard that if your into bargin hunting that feista in texas is good. cheap as fuck and good produce and meat but i'd have to be broker than sheep shit to shop there.

i haven't cooked nor turned on the stove in at least 6 years.  i stay ordering out and only go into the kitchen for leftovers and for drinks....though for some reason i'll check my empty fridge over and over again even when i know i got nothing to eat/drink.
i don't reheat anything using the stove or oven, i use either the microwave or my radiator....yes you read that correctly, the radiator!
i go grocery shopping for juice, toilet paper, beer and thats about it.

i did a pretty tasty spaghetti bolognese last night for this weeks lunches, figured i'd post the recipe

4 lbs ground chic (i got my guys to ground it and season it but whatever's your best ground meat option will work)
3 onions
4-5 celery stocks
4 garlic cloves
2 cup diced carrots
1 1/2 cups red wine
3 cans chopped tomates

season and brown the turkey. dice all the veggies and add to browned meat and cook till onions are translucent. add beef stock (optional and i use one that made from veggies) add red wine and tomatoes. and then just cook it down and keep adjusting amount of wine, seasoning and tomatoes to taste. real easy and chill to cook, just sip some wine and stir that ho.

using the veggies to season it gives it a nice taste and it comes out nothing like jar sauce. i generally favor sauce dishes that are seasoned with veggies and my experience has been that most of the ones that use celery are pretty tasty.

I'm not a big fan of cookbooks but this one is a nice treat for any of you vegetarian types:

My wife made sloppy joes out of this sucker last night and they were pretty amazing.

Chicago Diner has the best vegetarian food outside of Buddhist restaurants in China.

Anyone use the meal prep services where they ship it to you? It looks costly but I kind of want to try it during busy periods at work.

Any insight is appreciated!

Fresh veggies are rad, but frozen work in a pinch.  Never anything from a can.

This is the truth. To any skeptics, it's been proven that microwaving/steaming frozen veggies to cook them loses almost no nutritional value as they would being cooked over the stove, which loses tons of nutrients.

A sack of potatoes, white onions, and bell peppers. Bacon if you're into that sort of thing. You can live entirely off of potatoes and be pretty happy.

Honestly I think this is only true in California because we're getting hit with some of the worst inflation, but milk, eggs, some cheeses and some breads are now cheaper at Trader Joe's than they are at Safeway/Albertsons/Vons, cheaper than FoodMaxx too from what I heard today. That's kind of a mind-blower
