Camera bags?
« on: August 02, 2022, 02:43:30 AM »
Hello fellow slappers with cameras, the subject kind of says it all.  I recently took the plunge and bought a camera. I did the good old search and I may not be the best searcher, but I couldn't find anything recent or much about bags in general. I previewed this post because I'm a monster and out showed similar posts, so Mods, feel free to can this and point me in the proper direction.

So now I have a DSLR and of course am antsy to mess around with it, but it wasn't exactly cheap.  Between watching endless youtube videos to pick a camera that would suit me, buying said camera, and now relearning how a decent camera works, .  That being said I am overwhelmed and would like some info on camera bags, and would rather hear from slap then watch some more goddamn youtube videos.

So, what do you have?  Do you like what you got, as in what's the good and bad, maybe even ugly?

Do you have any recommendations?

Is there an apex bag you've always wanted? As in if you had the money, or a time machine, or you knew a guy who knew a guy, what would you get?

It felt weird typing camera bags so many times so apologies, it just feels a little odd.

Camera bags.

Thanks slap peoples.

I've used this bag for prob 10 years now, no complaints:

I'm sure I chose it for no other reason than it was the best looking backpack-style bag at the local camera shop at the time.

Beyond that, I personally would suggest a backpack-style over any other style as it's the easiest to transport, especially if you're skating/carrying other things.

Hope that's useful.

Allen.

Thats totally useful, it sounds perfect, I was leaning towards a diaper bag to roll incognito, but a camera backpack is something I would never have thought of, I'll send a gnar your way when I figure out how.

I think you need SLAP Pal status for that.

This. I wouldnt bother trying anything else. Even kept my vx1000 safe during a particularly nasty unintentional hill bomb crash

Lowepro Protactic 450 AW. Very customisable and comfortable. Hands down the best backpack I've had.
