Deserves an honorary doctorate in GNARLITUDE

Loved the ender, didn't expect that. Thought it was going to be Kadowesque.

Video game licensing for the song kind of confused me. Don't know what that's about.

Lots of exceptional ledge tricks as well. Yeah he'll probably be soty.

Yeah on some level skating’s a business, and Louie’s next, like Suciu was.  Louie’s got the sponsors and the pedigree to do it.

The china banks documentary did feel like a fucking sick consolation prize for TFunk, only because you’d think they’d wait to tell that story later if he might actually win.  Have to imagine the key decision makers are aware of who has how much footage, and how good it is by this point in the year.  Not saying TFunk wont make a push but he doesnt have the resources LL has, so he’s the underdog for sure
[close]

I know you’re speaking in broader terms here, but tell me exactly where the resource gap is between Louie and T-Funk thus far this year? One guy put out a part with an ender that was a key focus of a 30 minute documentary, and the other guy put out a part that was filmed by his best friend at a spot that’s like 15 minutes from his house.

shoe sponsor and pro model that has sold incredibly well. never forget that converse is owned by nike.

I've never not enjoyed an adult LL part With Days of Grace, Honour roll, West End, Seize the seconds, being my favs in that order.

What a brilliant song choice this was much like the days of grace songs.

Artist: Franck Pourcel
Song:Concorde

But with Lou I’m positive it would come off as more natural and not just shameless output of quantity over quality

Really is a shame Flip couldn’t capitalize on how gnarly dude is. They really scouted him from a child just to fumble the bag once he started to hit his stride.

I know we’ve said this for the past 5 years but this is really gonna be his year.

Is he too young to be considered a legend? He's just so damn good, and makes it all look effortless in a way that isn't boring.

Really mind-blowing that this was all filmed in 2 weeks...

If someone motion captured his skating from this video and showed me the 3D simulation, I'd probably say it wasn't realistic enough, airs on ollies were too floaty, everything was too stomped and bolts...

He's toeing the line of being so good it becomes sterile. I guess its him hauling ass as much as he does that separates him from some robo-skaters.

Maybe I set the bar too high for Louie but that felt like his weakest part.

The music selection makes my feel like I'm watching the intro to a 1980's TV show and I love it.

Like after this would be Magnum PI and then Hawaii 5-0.

I have a theory about these guys that put out a string of parts.

Wheels/ grip/ truck / bearings . Least priority
Board / clothing- mid priority
Shoes / energy drink - highest priority.

Essentially the sponsors paying big bucks get the big drops.

I think this will be his “weakest” part of the year. Also considering he filmed it over 2 weeks. Which is insane.

I feel dumb calling this weak.

In my opinion, he has been around long enough and put out enough parts to be in the legend/goat conversation.

In 1975, at the request of Air France, Pourcel composed an anthem for their new supersonic plane, Concorde.

In 2022 pro skateboarder Louie Lopez used this song for his video part “Honor Roll”.
I thought it wasnt just him solo, shouldve stuck with my og thought.

Can the kooks claiming Suciu's SOTY run was quantity over quality explain to me how his 5 minute Spitfire part was "bad" in any way?

The 20-second lines that were easier than light work for mark, Mark trying to get into "bigger" rail skating ended up feeling boring and low effort most of the time.

He could've easily won soty with 2 really good parts instead of releasing 4 that had a lot of low-effort skating (for mark) and felt like it was done only with soty in mind.

Not saying they were bad parts just most felt kinda "meh" a lot of the time

Louie’s skating is the cream of the crop for me . He deserves to be in the conversation with ishod , busenitz , etc. as one of the best to ever do it .

Really enjoyed that part . 2 weeks?! Jeeze .

That boardslide wall ride was sick !

Should we be comparing it to a normal part? Filming 3 minutes on one college campus in the space of two weeks feels like a very different challenge. He's obviously sitting on a lot of Cons footage for a 'real' part.

There’s a world where Louie doesn’t end up in the FA camp.  I’m happy this is the way it is.  He’s up there with Ishod and Grant as far as looking so god damn natural on the board.  Louie is all time.

Not my favorite song though.  It felt like the fastest 3 minute part ever, he’s that good.  Editing was a little rushed.  You would have a hard time finding anyone else for SOTY.  It’s all just so right and so good

So a lot of subjectivity there and ignoring that Mark himself stated that he wanted parts that showed more of his skating abilities and types of terrain. Got it.

Louie's first line was a 180, sw 180, then a nollie. That seems pretty low effort for him.

Well Louie filmed his in 2 weeks at one campus. Got it.

Do you really believe mark? It was 4 parts in 1 month so he was clearly aiming for soty.

Let's be real he only started skating bigger rails to get more soty attention which I personally don't fuck with
