Where did Let's Go come from?
« on: August 06, 2022, 12:01:54 AM »
It's the most annoying phrase in skateboarding and I wanna know who's to blame. Feel like I heard it from Foy first?

Tom Brady says it a lot. There's even a commercial of him saying it repeatedly. MMA fighters and weightlifters and other broey dudes say it a lot. It's been around a long time but its current popularity comes from jock and meathead culture.

That would fit the kind of contest bro skater guys that popularised it as a roll away celebration like Foy, Zion, etc. Does the jah use it?

Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

Yeah, Rancid are to blame and Tim Armstrong --- he invented "Let's go" and the idea of going
