i originally thought this was about “artsy” film shots of people jumping into water, not the rollaway jumps in. can op confirm? for the rollaways, depends on the spot & person. when blake did it in the dekline video i thought it was funny because you could tell it wasn’t planned. a lot of the others don’t really do it for me & seem gimmicky. as for it being a film shot for filler, i do get really tired of seeing people jump off cliffs into water now sped up in black in white on film. that goes for just about everything though now, reynolds driving the car in this is skateboarding sped up was the coolest thing ever to me at that time, now if someone does it i just would find it corny or unoriginal. then again i’m also old and jaded & don’t identify with most of the current “new guys” in skateboarding.

i know a few crusty curb types who i wish would jump into some water every now and then

Same goes for my nasty-ass husband...since he's retired some days I'm just like, "Oh would you take a shower for fuck's sake?" #blessed

Isn’t that the point of being retired though?

Of course, but at a certain point humanity needs to prevail on some level.
