If you go on a date, do you take your skateboard? Avoid taking your skateboard?

Does helon mean novice?
Maybe an age thing but wouldn't even mention skateboarding for a couple dates. Might as well start playing with ninja turtles at the table for how well it would go over for women in their 30s.

If I was Gipper, I’d treat it like the away days premier.   Drive to the date and then grab my skateboard and walk to the venue

For real it's cool that you like skating and having an interest (especially one which isn't just like video games and drinking) can be a huge turn-on for a romantic partner, but no, unless the date specifically involves skateboarding, you absolutely should not bring your children's toy with you.
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

99% of the time no.

BUT, I've had a few dates ask me, "Can you teach me how to skateboard?"

I've had a chick kind of fetishize me as a long haired bad sk8r Boi like she used to fantasize about in high school before. In that case it definitely was a good idea to bring it. She moved to Cali to become an "actress" so I can only assume she's been living out her dreams ever since.

You never know when you're gonna need to backside slappy a curb to smash some good ass. I keep my skateboard on a wallet chain. I just drag it around because I'm always on the lookout for some strange. Try taking your shirt off for no reason too. It works!

This is a joke, right?

Edit - It's just so funny tho. I'm picturing a boxer who shows up for a first date wearing his boxing gloves or a football player showing up to a date wearing his uniform...

Really takes you back to the time when skating was truly cool and subversive and filled with individual expression. The chicks dug it from a distance.

Damn, might have to modify it haha.

To put the question in context, I meant more like having your skateboard with you on a date because it was more convenient to cruise over than walk. Not just carrying it around to try and look cool haha.

There's definitely been times where I've gone a bit out of my way to drop my board off and switch out of my skate shoes before going on a date. Kind of annoying to carry a skateboard around on a date, especially if you move around. But I don't hide the fact that I skate or anything and sometimes you get the vibe it's a turn on for them.

I guess a lot of it depends on how old you are

If you're just meeting up at a dive bar or even a movie-sure
But like going out to eat at anything but the most casual kind of restaurant-nah

My perspective might be skewed though cause I don't have a car/can't drive, and live in a decently walkable city for the most part, so there's been plenty of times I've skated to meet a girl at a bar across the city or something like that

It probably depends more on how old the woman is. Having said that, if she's already into you, pulling over after saying "I gotta skate this" then grabbing your board and grinding a ledge or whatever will probably make her a little bit wet. Hell, I had a girl impressed by effortlessly doing a charlier cut with a deck of cards but she already wanted to fuck me. The charlier cut might have sealed the deal...she brought it up later...but that was just icing.

How do you have 1500 posts and exactly zero rep? Are you just at perfect equilibrium in terms of controversial opinions or do you never say anything interesting?

I tell my dates "Much like Independent trucks... I am also built to grind", then wink at her as she walks (and I skate) to the local McDonald's.

If you’re younger than 17 maybe, even then probably not. That would be like taking an acoustic guitar just because you play music, and the person that pulls out the guitar unwanted is the worst type of person.
