What is a useful trick? If I land a kick flip do I get groceries? Every time I do a varial heel I don’t hear haters for a week? Switch 360 flips block voodoo, ect.

Double flips. You get all the cool points for flipping your board on the very first flip. After that it’s just wasted energy.

And doing them into tricks (sorry Ginwoo) is dorky.

I'm pretty open minded. I have to be as I am old slow with a limited trick bag but I really cannot stand those foot plant to tail things people do on transition. Its not a sweeper, not a lien-to-tail, not a boneless, just a terrible looking, nose grabbing foot plant all too often stalled for too long before re-entry. I'll give a pass to anyone under 12 or over 40 who does them...

Agreed. That and people who would axle/feeble stall and tap their trucks on the coping on reentry like they were doing some barn dance would more often than not have the longest most annoying runs out of anyone back when I lived near a mini ramp.

I was just going to say this.  Maybe put no comply's and boneless's in that category.  But if we're talking useful as in being able to navigate the world, then tricks that allow you to get up or down things simply are the useful ones.

Realizing my ollie was reliable enough to actually use all the time to get me up and down curbs and stuff was like getting a superpower.  Still hasn’t gotten old.
