I assume by "spooky old hotel" you mean a place like a poorly maintained Best Western or Motel 6. If so, then yes, but under the provision that they have the ultra budget "free breakfast" (fruit loops in a Styrofoam bowl, orange juice that tastes like battery acid, hard boiled eggs, etc).

Pulled a Clark Kent costume out my ass at the last minute.  Printed out a high res Superman logo. Affixed it to an old white tee. Stiched a white button up shirt open so it's like mid costume change. Suit jacket, loose tie. Black pants and dress shoes. Already wear similar glasses every day and my hair is close enough. Boom. Done.

I was actually wrong, the correct answer was "freezing fucking cold."

Just think, us adults are actually just beginning our real holiday...full candy bowl season! Half my coworkers and meetings have a vessel of some sort that they fill exactly once a year with whatever trick or treat leftovers they have. I always look for the Skittles and nerds folks, those are my people.

I teach elementary school and told my kids in the morning that I was bitten by something that skittered or... fluttered away in the middle of the night. Slowly throughout the day I dropped hints about becoming a vampire until I put on the full costume when they were off at Art class. I picked em up as a vampire just in time for the costume parade.

So much more enjoyable than trying to be serious and actually teach on Halloween like I've done in the past.
