New Baker Video w/ Figgy and Riley

wow planet caravan & moving in stereo in the same video, baker is the fucking best. that was awesome. honestly the most mellow of their videos this year which takes nothing away being how good they all have been, just leads me to believe that there’s definitely one more or at least a kader part coming by the end.

also.. no figgy’s band & no pressure flip… you will be relieved to know that he ends it with a good ol’ am shuffle.  (just realized after rewatching there is actually a pressure flip in there, whoops)

That Lyric part was just kind of random. Rileys footage is a lot more enjoyable when he has shorter hair. The Casper tease was nice.

This is actually my honest, considered opinion.

And it hasn’t changed after watching. Figgy’s first nollie flip was dope though.

I take the Casper tease as an indication of a solo part coming soon, like Jacopo’s that started off this series.

Overall this wasn’t nearly as good as the previous instalments imho (in spite of the fact that the music was fucking perfect). By far the best thing in this was Rowan’s line.

I read some of the thread before watching and confused about Lyric. I was thinking there was going to be a montage at that spot in Baltimore called Lyric. That would've been way cooler. I'm not convinced that's the kid's real name. Seems to fit Limousine more than Baker IMO.

Riley had some cool tricks.

pretty wild to me that Baker is essentially taking the video format that has emerged over the last decade, a smaller/segmented team video (a response to a more saturated digital landscape).. and instead of dropping one annually/bi-annually like most teams, they've dropped 3 so far this year, with potentially more on the way. (also if you count that Spanky part that dropped in spring). on top of that, talk of a rumored Kader part and Baker Has a Deathwish 2.

no doubt why their brand loyalty has remained constant through the years.

Staying on peoples minds is the goal so smaller things that still feel important is the trick and they’re doing it. I don’t care about baker and they’re making me pay attention.

Figgy is gnarly. I never care about Riley but his part was pretty good. Nice to see him skate spots in NY and Austin. Lyric kid will probably be sick in 3 years.

To derail the Kader talk, Figgy recently moved the same city I live in (Austin) and he's been on a tear as seen in the baker part earlier this year. He seems to have meshed well with the locals and skates alot. Love or hate is skating, you gotta respect the work he's putting in at his age while doing the type of skating he's known for. Also, good on him for venturing out and not getting stuck in the San Diego lifer loop that Provost, Riley, Milton, etc seems to be damned to.

While the tricks weren't amazing, they were done perfectly and paired with that track I'll say that was the most enjoyable Riley part I've seen.

The music was awesome, the skating was dope, I even liked the fact that the edit was a bit slower, not just a machine gun barrage of clip-clip-clip (except for the Strobeckesque middle part...someone said it, both the filming and skating belong more to Limo/917/Hockey video).

Still, something's just not there.

Will be watching it again for sure, but it's not like I can't wait to play it again.

Always a treat to see Figgy footage, and he didn't disappoint.

Riley's parts never did much for me because he always seemed so stiff and had awkward footing, but he has definitely loosened up a bit. I actually enjoyed his part.
