Which Pro Should Have Started His Own Board Company But Never Did
« on: September 21, 2022, 05:33:03 AM »
Plenty of pros have started plenty of board companies, some successfully and some were complete failures.

Who is a pro who always rode for others but probably could have had his own board brand and it would have been a success?

Maybe you will mention a certain pro, and then someone will remind you that they did in fact start a board brand that you never heard of, and that will be embarrassing for them, and we will all get a laugh.

I think Caballero could have had his own successful board brand at different points during his career.  In fact I think he's the only bones brigade guy who didn't do that?

I also think that Cheeks Skateboards or something by Chico Brenes could have been successful.

Others?

i feel like koston, especially paired with guy mariano, would have a really successful board brand on name alone. those two would really do numbers.

John Rattray should of had a company called "rat race" if only just because it sounds a bit like "rattray's".

3D should of been better not just a skate mental backup account but I think the reasons have been explained.

Tired could have a team or something more legit.

Program Skateboards (pretty sure that was the name) - Brian Lotti....
had Dill, Gino, Wray and needed Markovich to get Rocco's blessing.
Markovich stayed on Color and the company didn't get to fully happen.

Would have been a mood/ positive vibes fo sho

rob dyrdek probably could have - i imagine the only reason he did not is because he had the foresight / knowledge that there just isnt a lot of money to be made in it.

Honestly I think a list of 'Which Pro skaters shouldn't have ever started their own board companies' would be far longer and funnier. There's gotta be some absolute howlers of cringe company names and graphics out there...

I second this.

Curren can stay on skate mental . I fuck with him but I need a part before I’m saying he’s at the top of his game . I mean last real part he had was filmed nearly a decade ago . What happened to that part he was talking about on the bunt?

If it came out in 1999 or 2006 it probably would’ve done pretty well just off of their own popularity.

What we ended up with had a shockingly empty art direction. Also, they probably should’ve just sponsored an actual crew like how FA, Frog, and 917 did instead of getting random dudes from across the globe on some Captain Planet shit.

Slightly off topic, but I wish Lance would have kept The Firm going forever. Also kinda wish Winkowski would start his own thing.

He almost did start one with Alex Olson. Imagine the two of them arguing over graphics.

The rare case where "I could see him on Krooked" makes 100% sense
