Another dude in his 40s here. Stretching, water, bannana, preworkout drink, light roll around when I get to the spot, and it is go time. I do exercise 4-5 days a week so that helps too.
I do pray for a safe session, too. No lie.

If I'm having a "bad knee day" (less common nowadays, thank God) I'll consider having some ibuprofen before I head out, but most of the time it's just a case of showing up and skating transition and/or doing reverts and powerslides for 20 minutes or so before I start popping anything.
