My best mate is cut and when he had his first son they had to go to this random doctor about an hour away to get it done, it was such a traumatic experience that when his 2nd son was born they didn’t cut him.

I think it's pretty common experience in Aus everyone knows someone who knows someone who went thru all the extra effort only to be like that was a mistake. Apparently the thing to do is just ask doctors and nurses you deal with if they'd do it for their kids and the answer is pretty much always no (funnily enough Trevor Moore (rip) of all people brought this up one time). When a friend had a kid and they asked about it apparently one nurse was like you wouldn't get your appendix taken out if you didn't need to. I think that also sums it up pretty well.
