How Many Boards do you think you have had all together over the years?

Probably around 40-45. I’m most upset about skating my Jerry Chocolate and BA Girl boards though which was around 5 and 12 years ago respectively. Hindsight always 20/20

I usually ride my stuff until it falls apart or if I get hurt.

I kept most of mine, probably because looking back I was a bit of a hoarder in my youth. Still got them stashed behind the sofa and still keep them since I only go through a few a year these days. For the first 10 years or so of skating I pretty much only skated second hand boards and was pretty reckless so they'd last anything from a few days to a few weeks. This is something like 200, I'm sure overall it's been more like 3-400. Now that I'm at ease with my hoarding days I'm planning to turn them all into household items to sell but haven't got round to it yet. Here's a shoe rack I made a while back though as a start.

I had to throw away my stash of boards at 25, at the time I had about 70 boards in there.

Mowing between 4 different countries for the next few years probably set me back 20 boards or so.

I have a stack at home now, for the last 6-7 years, and a kid visited my house this weekend and he was hella annoying so I gave him the task to count the boards, he came up to 44. So that makes around 150. But I traveled a lot and left a lot of boards behind me at spots to younger kids etc, so I'll add some 20 boards to that as well = approximately 170 in total.

I couldn't help but start doing the ruff math on how much I've spent over the years. Not as bad as shoes but still enough to make me wish it was much less. If I only had to buy one board a year (which honestly now is the case altho I've got plenty of old stuff to use too) I'd be pretty happy.

No idea, back in my youth I'd make them last me way longer, due to cost.  Now that I'm older and settled in a career I find myself buying way more, and skating them not nearly as long.  But I've never tried to keep track.

Since 35 years ca 120pcs.
Was only skating 2-3 years really intensive gaps
and flip tricks which was killing boards. Always like to  skate goods curb spots, skateparks and mini ramps which is not that heavy to the board.
So usually 3 boards per year. After 3-4 month the
Board becomes to soft for me. We have a real winter
so from November till March mostly Miniramp.

I've gone thru more in the last 2 years then the previous 12 combined lol older dude that's not totally broke starts skating again syndrome. But unless it snapped, i probably went thru 4 or 5 a year growing up, early 20s peak skating was probably higher than that. Maybe not. So, 1996-2014, late 2020-now, maybe 150? 200? Seems like a lot of decks though

I’m a little surprised by some of the lower numbers on here but also I’d imagine not everyone was jumping off every roof they could find from age 12-25 lol

I was never a hucker and only broke a couple boards so even when I was skating daily boards would last 2-3 months sometimes.

its funny i never axeled a pair of trucks until this year, and i did it in 20 weeks just skating curbs basically every single day.
i have probably only had about 10-15 pairs of trucks. no clue about wheels i honestly used to just ride whatever. i always rode huge wheels would start at like 56 and ride thme down to like 47mm maybe only like 20 sets of wheels too?

Never gone through more that 3-4 boards in a year because I'm cheap, don't skate big stuff and just procrastinate until I really have to do something. So 18 years of skating, probably had like 40 boards in total. Probably gone through more sets of bearings cause I buy the worst shit

Do you feel you slam more because of it?
Around 6 weeks on a board it becomes noticeable how much more my feet are slipping off.

Started in ‘85 so maybe one every three months the first few years, but I would beg, borrow, work, and plead to get a new one sooner. Definitely ramped up in the 90s, I once bought fifty blanks for $500 from South Central or maybe Clearwood when I had designs on starting a company, but, I mostly skated them myself, yet did give a couple to Dan Murphy when he was living in Hampton Beach, NH and didn’t have a proper board sponsor yet. I took a brief hiatus in my thirties to heal my knees. Now have joined the Over 45 broken leg Skate Club few months ago along with Cab, Hawk, Staab, but it feels good.

So all in, definitely over 500.
