Saw him skate at a 1031 demo around 2011 at an indoor skatepark in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Me and my homies were sitting at the top of a quarter pipe watching the demo and Dan is positioning his board getting ready to drop in and just lets out a huge audible wet fart directly at me and my buddies. my friend has a similar story except with bam and reversed. Bam was trying to kickflip boardslide a flatbar at our local and my friend was like 14/15 and thought it would be cool to do it first try in front of him and bam got super bummed.

if you insist. i view skateboarding as an artform, its not just the tricks, it has to tick all the boxes. like painting, doesnt matter if the brushstrokes are delicate if the motiv doesnt float my boat. for skateboarding its so much to consider, tricks for sure, but equally style and how the skater dresses, or looks while doing it. spots and filming, music ans oberall presentation counts a lot too. and its not like only one formula works, again, like other artforms, its totally possible to enjoy watching leonardo and the rennesanse masters and also appriciate modern art. thats being said, i do like this part, its powerful and creative.

I can admit, I've watched some of Dan's video and I don't think he's a horrible skater (he has horrible takes, though), but the question that immediately comes to mind is if he felt rushed and can admit this wasn't his best skating, why drop it on YT and call it a full part? Between the sketchy skating and horrible song, what was there to achieve here?

I feel the same why about skaters posting with clips on Insta with captions like "sketchy", "re-do" (and they never do), "rocket flip" or "crap edit". You knew it was shit and you still posted it, own it.

Dan landing at dead stops on 80 percent of tricks with one or both toes touching. You: "stop talking shit. he's better than you."

Louie landing with speed on all tricks done proper. Nutty ender with minor compression and rolls away smooth. You: "did you see that sKeTcHy lAnDiNg? there's nothing groundbreaking here. you guys are dickriders."
