Why does the ego get so inflamed with skateboarding?

Isn’t an inflamed ego in any sort of competitive environment just the natural state of human affairs?

I've never been loved in skating. I've rubbed elbows with mad industry kooks over the years.

Like 5 of the greatest pros in history.

They all didn't like me or was frightened if the chill with me they might catch gay or heroin perhaps crack.

It's not easy being the first sigma wolf in the history of east.

No one knows how to handle it at all.

I'm not better I'm just different. If you let down you guard I got your back.

Unless you be harming other skaters and passerbys.

Inflamed because they're weak egos. Male egos are very fragile

I'll chalk it up to the culture mostly made up of dude, and formed by (so many shallow ego) + (or multiplied by???)  the rapid volatility in the act of skateboarding. Land a trick, success. Miss a trick, failure.

The more I ponder it and arrive at possible reasons, the more I see how much I don't understand.

Idk there's prob some nuanced, comprehensive explanation but this ain't no Astute, Trauma-Informed Banter last time I checked

The worst are the dudes who were just barely good enough to go AM. Even at the courts in Vancouver, which is this super diverse place, my least favorite dude is right on the edge of being good enough to be AM. Dude sucks.
