Tyshawn reminds me of Reese Forbes added with Stevies style / tech. I can’t shake the feeling if he was some white kid that rode for anti hero, his skating wouldn’t be as questioned or criticized.

Do people actually question and criticize tyshawn’s skating? Why? What the fuck is there to critique? Besides the fact that he too damn good at skateboarding… ok…having anything  negative to say about tyshawn’s skateboarding is far more fucking bizarre and confusing than it is to compare a resemblance to Reese Forbes and tyshawn, I can wrap my head around that concept and see the merit in it. But to criticize anything tyshawn produces on a skateboard is just a flat out stupid interpretation, people need to lay off the glue sniffing.

You guys should read through more Tyshawn threads on Slap, every time a topic is about TJ there's haters on slap criticizing his character, skating, lack of footage, and it's way more apparent than the amount of criticism other skaters of his skill level receives. It's like people want to discredit him any way they can and it's so obvious.

This part was insane. Tricks into the big bank at china banks, Jerome Ave, switch ollie over the table long ways, that back noseblunt on the top of the sf pier ledge, and the insane ender which also pays homage to Dylan.
If dude has another part that's this stacked coming, I don't think there's any question about it.

Part was good but it kinda felt like Suciu’s first few vids in his SOTY push. They were fine but I haven’t rewatched them. i don’t think that was even close to T-Funks vid. Nothing to do with his personality, which I have no issue with.

Edit- also am I the only person who noticed his back wheel hitting the rail on that switch nosegrind? They slo-mo’d it so it was pretty obvious.

This vid felt like b-roll except for that nollie FS heel which was nuts

Tyshawn is excellent, no doubt. I like seeing him celebrate after a trick though which he did a few times in there. always better to see these guys having fun. As cool as that video is I still think the t-funk video is one of my favorites this year.

The fact that people have named so many tricks as their favourites shows how heavy this was. Agreed that the filming could have maybe been a bit more exciting but skating like this speaks for itself. Really feels like he can do whatever he wants, must feel amazing to be that good.

I’m not hating on it (ok I am hating on that switch nose where he tapped his back wheel- I can’t believe they put that in). It was a good part. But the “OMG he’s SOTY no one can deny it after this part” takes are silly. That part wasn’t an instant SOTY part, and I don’t even think it was meant to be. The last two SOTYs came out with parts late in the year that everyone has forgotten but signaled they were going for SOTY. This part says it’s just the beginning. Right now he’s still way behind TFunk in my eyes.
