man i thought at first this was a thread for pointing out tricks in video parts that should have been re done (because they were poorly executed) is there a thread like that?

There are three threads about Tyshawn clipping a wheel on a nosegrind and not going straight over that picnic table. They all suck.
why come?

i'm not looking for robotic precision at all, but one i thing i don't dig is foot halfway off the board but no toe drag. even though you're rolling away unencumbered it's just not good enough.

For sure. Unless it’s something crazy epic, not that anything I’ve filmed is crazy epic

Reynolds' opening line in TIS would be way more impressive if he'd've cleaned up that heel drag

me personally, I like a clean roll away. no quick hop offs or flailing power slides just to stay on the board

to be honest, that was kind of how me and my friends satisfied ourselves the line was genuine and that the cut out before the kickflip really was an accident. there's no way reynolds would include a dragged manual in the opening line of his part unless it was a truly fucked up line. if that hadn't been in there, we might have had a little more doubt!

I would commend anyone who can keep their bladder open and peeing while doing any athletic maneuver. it always closes me right up if I try to make a sudden move mid-stream.

This guy at my local once tried a varial flip down a bank, completely fucked up the flick, credit carded, fell to the ground and puked.

He was fine but never redid it, as far as I know, and in my personal opinion that just wasn't a legit make.

haha I dig that!

Thinking about it now, that heel drag was sort of the last bit of the piss drunx Reynolds before he became the ultra perfectionist madman for Stay Gold

I guess toe drags, but it can be a grey area sometimes. If you're jumping down something big, I'd say a quick touch doesn't require a redo. If you're just doing a flatground trick, it's a redo.

Full hand touch is a definite redo. If it’s just your fingertips swiping the ground, that’s different and looks sick most of the time.

In fully flared Nick Jensen front boards a metal barrier put down a double set like a handrail but I'm saying it's not a make. He is never even close to being in control and even takes his foot off way before he conveniently runs into a wall.
Evan Hernandez front board a pretty massive rail (the Templeton lipslide one) in in bloom but only rolls away a tiny bit before jumping off because he ran into a planter.

Kind of relevant to the recent tyshawn swollie over nose grind commentary, recently I saw a guy at the park do a nosegrind up this little 4 stair hubba where his back wheels clearly bounced off the ledge on dismount. Guy had his friend filming it for like 30 minutes then took the bonk, didn't even give it a few more goes for a clean one.
