I don't think it has anything to do with how fragile or not his ego is. He has a new company that he has invested money in. Why would he not, with the simple tap of a phone screen, block a complete random from the internet who's come for the sole purpose of trying to tear down what he is working on?
And here you are, still thinking about, making a post. Who really has the fragile ego here?
As someone who works in PR, I can say that blocking people who criticize you is a terrible business move. It makes the brand look fragile and unstable. The fact that this was his personal account (I assume?) means there is a bit more leeway, but never has a company benefited from blocking people who criticize them on social media. All it does is feed the trolls and amplifies what those now-blocked users were shouting about.
I'm not saying this as a judgement against anyone, just what I've seen in the industry and the messes I've had to clean up for companies. I don't have any real feelings toward TJ outside of recognizing he's one of the best technical skaters around right now.
