I don’t know the specifics but generally I think you simply you own a business which barely or never manages to turn a profit so you never owe taxes, and you use the business to pay for everything so on paper your income is like $26k or something. Basically a smaller scale version of what every billionaire does. There are legal and illegal ways to do it, but I expect someone at the level of Nyjah or Tyshawn has the good lawyers who set this up so it’s all legitimate.

 I assume most pros are paid as independent contractors, which is also how companies get out of providing healthcare. As a contractor you have to take care of your own taxes and a pro who is getting a large untaxed payment from say a shoe company could use the losses on their board company or a restaurant they own to offset the taxes they owe from their income. None of that is illegal, or even frowned upon. If that business somehow becomes profitable, then great you’re making money, if it loses money then it doesn’t really matter you can use that loss to reduce the tax you owe from your work as a contractor.

i could see why Tyshawn would do it, but i wouldnt imagine Nakel would have a reason to lose (what i imagine to be) a generous FA check

but then again, the fact that Tyshawn opened a restaurant - an extremely risky market to enter - also implies that he's willing to take risks

You misunderstood, he said that as reasoning for why TJ probably thinks Tut was Black. I don't think he has an issue with a pro black brand, just historical inaccuracies and who knows maybe their really into Egyptology
