I usually wait a month for new releases because they’re always coming out with a patch to iron out everything they couldn’t get right by ship date

Sure, not the case here though… 11 hours in and no crashes or bugs. Only thing that needs patched is NPC’s yelling tips too often.

Lol this is too true. Several times Atreus has blurted out the solution to a puzzle before I even realized what I was looking at.

Heck yeah! I left work early last Wednesday and copped it. ha! It's hard to get time in playing but Saturday I got some hours in.

Just met up with Tyr.  I've had a few glitches but that probably on me for not updating. Some of the audio has been messed up and at one poit Try was crying non stop. I had to start the checkpoint over.

Never played one but am interested in this.
If I had to start with a mandatory pre-requisite, where should I start?

The 2018 GoW was a pretty big departure from their previous titles but that's where I'd recommend starting. TBH, you don't really need to know the full story to be able to enjoy Ragnarok but the game has a little video in the main menu to get players up to speed.

I'm probably about 10 hours into Ragnarok and it keeps getting better. Before starting this I was convinced Elden Ring was the best game to come out this year but, I dunno, this may take the cake. Haven't finished it yet so too early to tell.

I’m about 20 hours in and was simultaneously unimpressed by my character build/level and worried that I was maybe pushing the main story too quickly. I just looked up the chapters and it’s both comical and incredible how much game I still have ahead of me. I don’t know if I can take it, the emotional weight, the themes, and character development are so well done, just so damn good, while tying together  the different mythologies so successfully. There really is no medium quite like video games when they’re done right.

That's good to know. I though I might be going too fast. I wanted to make it last. Just got back from ironwood. idk how many hours that is.  :-\

I think Ironwood is chapter five. You’ve got like thirteen chapters ahead of you. Exactly what I’m talking about.

Been playing it on and off since release. Seems like they put all the cool shit in the first couple hours (and assumingely the end). Have no idea why reviewers were so positive on this game. The combat and cutscenes are excellent but everything else kind of sucks. The puzzles are wack, the menus are way too complicated for this type of game, the climbing is boring, and the entire middle part drags. I put about 40 hours in and I think I’m only 65-75% done with the story.

Trying to beat it before Callisto Protocol so hopefully the last stretch GOW R is sick.

I actually disagree, to me it just got better as it opened up. First couple hours are cool but they're very on-rails and I enjoyed the mid-section more

You must be focusing on the side-stuff heavy if you're 40 hours in and still that far out because I've beat it and done quite a bit of side stuff in just under 40 hours

...also I like the puzzles, just hate how they shout out the answers immediately

Beat it a few days ago. I still stand by my previous criticism about it’s plodding middle section, especially knowing how they handle the ending. Overall I give it an 8.5.

Been done for a week or so. Completely done with everything but still have Berserker King and Gna. I have a few story gripes, as some things were set up and could have played out very differently and would have been satisfying. Overall still liked it a lot.

Main logistical gripe is now that I’ve unlocked and maxed out my weapons and armor there’s literally nothing to do with it.

Was my personal game of the year. But, I can understand why Elden Ring won (I've only played it briefly at a friends, I refuse to buy it until I actually get like halfway through either Bloodborne or Sekiro, which have essentially collected dust for me after maybe playing 2 hours of each). Takes pretty much everything good about the first game and makes it better (except may the narrative, as the narrative in one was a bit tighter).

Was able to finish the game this past week. I ended up turning the difficulty settings down only to realize I hadn't been upgrading all my shit in the end. If you think that's bad you don't want to know of long it took me to beat the of FF VII. Ha! I enjoyed the game very much. Solid 8.5 for sure.  It's wild to me that people are able to beat the game and have all the side missions completed.  I still have a lot left to do.
