The Paint-skate Experiment
« on: April 09, 2007, 04:48:11 PM »
Resistance skateshops new offering....

We`ve developed a system in which the board itself acts as a paintbrush, the wheels are continually fed with paint, the board itself holds paint, and we`ve had numerous riders doing tricks of all types over huge canvasses. The resulting paint lines show a breakdown of the trick that was performed. Every different trick makes for a different paint mark. The show consists of 25 3.5 meter canvasses, all showing different tricks by different riders.

Opening night, Friday 27th April, come one come all!!!

That about sum it up...So much information from the trick is transfered, you can analyse the tricks and how they they`re performed....

Little promo thing a friend of ours put together, ...   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFXxZ03kVoU  might have to cut and paste that...

Still hard to see exactly how the works look, but a better indication of what`s involved.

did you get consistent results? did kickflips look alike, or was there more similarities trick to trick by the same skater?
we toked a marley and i split back to the park, minding my own busineess when a rollerblader mean mugs..i let it go.

The results are quite consistent, as in you can distinguish one trick from another, but no two tricks of the same type ( kickflips for example) look the same. Little things like the way the skater was leaning, or the curve on approach, all make for different end reults.

The same trick from two different skaters look similar, but have great variances..
Some skaters have been lightfooted, and it shows in the paint, some skaters have been more dynamic, hence more dynamic results.

That coupled with the skaters choice of colours and trick types has made for quite a broad range of canvasses.

Were the rails ink filled?

Also, the no complies, especially the fact that they left footprints, really made me happy. So very good.

This is one of those "why didn't I think of that?" moments. Pretty dope and i agree with Grim, the no-comply/handplant were my favorites. Nice!
