Finally saw it. Great vid. Had some Greg Hunt vibes with the b-rolls. Kind of crazy to see Westgate sort of get overshadowed by the rest of the team when he was the one who used to do that.

can someone remind me why we're supposed to not like element? that was sick and they sponsor a bunch of pretty dope people. feel like their past couple vids have been pretty good too?
[close]

element has been kinda cool for a little minute now. people that dont recognize this are just behind the times
[close]

Element has always had a good team and they seem to have weathered their post-peace exodus pretty well.  That said,

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs_dK_hFvnh/?igshid=NDk5N2NlZjQ=

Let's see:
Dumped Jeremy Wray and Kenny Hughes (man, Kenny had a dope style)
Made really disparate videos in the 00's that looked like footage dumps (minus Brent Atchley in Elementality, of course)
Had terrible graphics for the longest time
Pseudo-hippy bullshit
Turned into a Bam-brand
Was identity-less for 5(?) years after the Bam stuff hit a wall

I like the new team, and I love seeing Apple's, they just suffered from corporate-ownership for so long I'm actually amazed they are still around.

This video was amazing. Does Jaako have a magnus opus part to view? Honestly no clue what he'll whip up next.

Can't believe that front crook.
Oh, the places you'll go.

Excellent video, as everyone said. Jaako and Nick are the best at what they do, Vinicius Santos is an absolute beast, Eetu kills it, Madars still has incredible style, and the girls rip. Front Crook was mind-boggling.

Damn, that was a really, really good video.
I thought it was kinda cool that they included everyone who has ever rode for Element in the credits.

They didnt include all. I wasnt mentioned, and some other of my past teammates wasnt either. Two from my time did got mention though. Would have been a long list if they actually mentioned all ;D

Speaking of jaakko, I have this memory of him doing crazy natas spin variations on this weird spot with red? spheres. I dunno if I’m misremembering but if anyone knows what I’m talking about send me a link I can’t find those clips anywhere. However in my search I watched a bunch of his old parts. Incredible, every one.

what in the fuck did I just watch?? who was that with the drumming Ted speech??
why does Donny Barley only have one trick in this, when Element just gave him a capsule collection? (and a pretty rad one at that, I happily grabbed a tshirt and deck)
why would Element be a euro brand?
whatever happened to Bill Pepper?

questions, questions, so many questions....

Because they've fucked on the US side for 20 years, when they've been pretty spot on with their team and videos since then. Of course, the product is still meh...
But since Rise Up, i've thought that euro Element was way sicker than the US one. I think they finally realized that too and gave à more 'euro vibe' to the company as a whole ( the team,  the filming locations, people editing...)

OK I see what you mean. I guess it shows how much Europe's image in the skating scene has changed in the last 20 years. in a good way!
(and goddamn it I still haven't had the time to watch that new element vid....)

I have an Element logo ring in some box that my best friend gifted me some 20 years ago. I might just start wearing that bad boy again after watching this. Apples' 3 4 clips were dope as fuck.

Crap, that was so good.

I love:

Funa’s stance on the front board at Hollywood.

Gabriel Fortunato and Eetu. Both really surprised me.

Nick Garcia. Been a longtime fan and I’ve hoped he could get out from under Element’s shadow, but he’s skating better than ever.

Ethan Loy. He’s got a great frontside nosegrind and stance on tricks, and his roller coaster ride front board was fucking wild.

Jaako! He’s in the realm of skaters where no trick or combination is impossible, but in a way where I want to see it and not simply doze off.

I dunno if Element’s many sins are more forgivable now than ever, but they knocked it outta the park and I hope the skaters they sponsor are treated well and supported. Killin it, sheesh.

would have really preferred to see everyones' tricks in their actual part together and not spread into other sections as much. I see that type of editing appropriate for a tour video but not something like this? But my opinion means nothing.

This was a really well done video. Made me consider buying a board.

Love the sprinkled clips. Love that everyone had about the same amount of footage (except it seemed a limited few which was cool!). Loved Maria’s footage and that frontside crook by the person whom I forgets name (sorry! I’m drunk as I type this).

I love that Nick Garcia is the veteran on the team. That dude is becoming one of my fav skaters for me. Element got a lot more cool once Nyah and Evan left (no offense to Evan).

@scab hahaha. Amazing.

Came back to modify this post. I feel like part of the success of this video, was the editing. They have a lot of people in this feature, and they made it twenty minutes by using everyone’s best/most interesting clips. You’d think, aren’t all videos edited like this, but this was really well executed.

I've noticed a trend of mall-core in recent vids. Metal militia, puffy shoes, jorts, loud colors, emo music, etc amongst young people. Element is prime to exploit that if they lean into that stuff. This video however, seems to point towards them going in a more toned down tasteful direction. Will be interesting to see what they do as a company.

Or from slides & grinds where he was on his way to become a slap villain because he had the audacity to do multiple slappy noseslides.
Also had some nice stuff in the first ESP video. Dont know what it is but there is something about his style I really enjoy watching.

That was great. To the north American pals element is huge over here in France with non skaters or dude who quit skating in highschool or something. I see more element shirts/hoodies than any other brand at work and in town. Could be a mountain thing thou. The element shop in Lyon is always busy. Just hope the team gets paid.

Vinicius has been in the scene for a while now, he had the first part in ESP and was very good.

And the first line of his small part in this video received lots of love in Instagram at the time (starts 2:30, must-see):
