God damnit I can't leave it like that...

#1 never leave slap...
#2 never stop skating for more than a year...
#3 always try to be down for friends and family
#4 don't go join the military
#5 try to go vegan if you can
#6 Honor the cult of gall by answering all questions accordingly...

#7 if you meet Manny Santiago tell him to ask his homies to stop giving me messages to give him from prison.
I haven't seen Manny since right when he first started skating. The people who I been visiting should not be telling people I'm a skateboard addict and these people should definitely not be interrupting my visit.
That's technically a violation and I could buy law beat that ass with a wet Bobo.

#7 always be true to yourself. Nothing smacks like honesty. It's the ultimate steez. You're a slap pal and you don't need anything more than that for street cred.

#8 avoid jails institutions and death ked. Ok

School is a waste of time.

If you attend college have a plan. Many college students mindlessly drift through while half-assing their classes for a meme degree, wondering why a 6 figure job didnt land on their doorstep on graduation day, and then say "college was pointless." If you attend college, do it with purpose and bust your ass to get straight A's, or work a job until you have a reason to enroll.

Don't use credit cards

Stop buying takeout and learn to cook as someone said already

False, use your credit card for everything. Pay it off after every purchase. Having good credit is key. If you have no control, get a secured credit card.

Debit cards are pointless, and if someone gets ahold of your card it's a fight with the bank to get it back.

The thing that a lot of kids don’t realize and need to be reminded of is that college doesn’t guarantee a job, it only guarantees an education.

The rewards are pretty nice too.  I get probably $500-600 back a year on them and my credit is impeccable too because I use several different ones.

Steer clear of meth and heroin.

Look after your teeth.

Be kind to the people around you, especially those less fortunate.

I almost don't agree with the 'travel more' thing. Ideally it would be good for everyone. But I met a lot of unhinged people (fellow travellers) on my own journeys that didn't really have the temperament do deal with it and were just doing it because other friends were and they felt pressured to have the same experiences. But yeah get yourself settled in your personal and financial life to sustain a few short trips, then go for longer ones if you feel up to it. Another thing I'd like to add is work out what you really love and do your damn best to focus on it as much as possible without letting anyone sway you or talk you out of it. Social media has increased a lack of self some doubt and I see a lot of people just jumping from one thing to the other really inorganically. You gotta try different things out but just don't make it a chronic habit and tunnel vision your way through what you enjoy

Yup, nothing wrong with restaurants now and then. Other people cooking your food will always be somewhat expensive no matter what. Eating at home 90-95% of the time is key! Your pockets will thank you.

I'm going to try the credit card thing so probably do that.

Maybe get a camper and go bombing hills in the Rocky Mountains.

Come see my band SCÜMBARI when we tour this year.

Happy birthday! sorta skating related but will benefit the rest of your life outside it too: start exercising / working out if you arent already. As skating takes a backseat in life your body will thank you for maintaining strength everytime you get back on a board. Doesnt hurt to look good naked too.

To start: For maintaining skating I personally find that explosive or heavy movements work better than light and endurance based stuff, for general fitness you cant go wrong with squats, push ups and pull ups

Don’t use the dollar store.

Buy quality products.

It pays off in the long run.

This BUT workout the limit too. There's certain things that you will never see the value for money in. It's personal sure but like a five grand tv is prob not that much better than a five hundred dollar tv for a regular person and will still die before you get your money's worth. Same with so many appliances, tools, cars whatever

Brush and floss. Go to the dentist. Pay your taxes. act 15% dumber and 15% nicer than you really are. Learn to cook. Always Clean up after yourself sooner rather than later. Avoid sunburn. You don't need 99% of the things you want.

Terrific advice and I would add to not stress over work, but also to work hard at whatever you do. School is not strictly a waste of time but it is best to have a goal and a plan.

Stretch, eat well, maintain your core and strengthen your back. Otherwise all your injuries will come back out in your 30’s like it did for me.

Be careful with the partying, it becomes a habit quickly.

Start putting money aside every week. Doesn’t have to be much, but put some aside anyways. I’ve been puting aside 40-70$/week since I’m 17, it builds up nicely over time.

Pay your debts quickly and get some good credit.

Travel as much as possible.

Really solid advice.

Core and back strength is a must.
