Most supportive cupsole that isn't crazy chunky

Emerica G6 soles maybe? I had the Reynolds 3's a few years ago but I thought the sole needed a little more grip. Currently on 440 Highs and they're great but too thin. If they had a little bit more cushion they'd be perfect.

All time Reynolds lights, DC Cole lite 1&2, DC Mike mo, Nike sb Omar Salazar (altho at the time they seemed chunky compared to the gravis etc that were so popular), Nike sb prod 4,5,6,7

i really like the vans ave pro and adidas tyshawns. My back and feets feel so much better after i did the jump from vulcanized shoes like the louie lopez to more supportive cupsole shoes.

I’m currently skating the 440 highs and I agree they could use just a tad more cushioning. If these had the same padding as the converse fastbreaks, it would be the perfect shoe imo

Do these shoes have a midsole, or does the insole do all the work? I checked the website and they don’t list it as having a midsole

SB Bruin Reacts were a great cupsole and you can probably find them in your size on sale. They're not too thick or thin and have perfect grip on the sole. *edit - I don't know if this is a dealbreaker for you but they don't have tongue centering straps and that can be seen as a design flaw.

maybe the busenitz? I find it supportive enough and it slims down enough at the toe so it doesn’t feel in the way at all

Is it stupid to say vans Ave?
Cause I rolled the living shit out of my ankle in them in like 2020 I posted a pic on here I couldn't walk on it for a while but apart from that they are a great shoe, would cop again

They rip in all the right places just use shoe goo and theres a flexy bit on the inside that allows for bunions

Edit for spelling

Emerica KSL G6 sounds like it would be your jam. I don’t think they changed anything with the sole’s grip though. The NB# 1010s are also a great supportive cup that isn’t too bulky in my opinion.

Was just about to pipe up with putting a better insole, in my case out of the fastbreaks, into the 440’s. Real answer is fastbreaks. Con’s is blowing it with the fastbreak. Should be pushing it hard. Then again, don’t wanna compete with parent company’s sacred cow or lay of their “iconic” brand identity.

The NB# 440 is awesome. Only reason I don't skate this exclusively is just for variety purposes. Otherwise if you ask me to pick one cup to skate for the next 10 years its definitely the 440.

Get 440 and add Superfeet Adapt Run or Run Comfort insoles. Excellent support and a tad more cushioning. NB sells these branded as well.

Honestly, I found the 440s to be less supportive than the skate line Vans'. I even swapped the popcush insoles for a bit thinner insole and they feel just perfect now. Would like to try some XLKs but I'm not familiar with Lakai sizing.

Im the exact opposite. lately I've been skating half cabs although im far more in favor of capsules at age 30. I throw out the pop cuts insoles every time and use FP's. The NB# 440 is the only shoe I typically just leave alone.

Echoing 440.  Love that it is so low cut and feels streamlined but also has the supportive bands on sides.  Echoing what others say would only skate that if I didn't get bored (have 3 variations of them in rotation currently, with one pair of old school Adidas superstars that I rock occasionally if I want a different feel.  NB 440s got me back into low tops from thinking I had to wear hightops due to ankle issues

Also Ishod dunk deconstructed if you can find it

It's not that popular around here but the Marana is a really good and durable cupsole that offers a lot of protection. I have had it some years ago and was very happy with it.
