Baker vs Element Shape
« on: December 20, 2022, 12:29:37 PM »
Has anybody had any experience switching between Baker decks and Element decks?  Are they similar? I believe they are both BBS, but I'm thinking about switching from Baker to Element.  I love the mellowness of the OG Baker that I have now (8.25) and I like the low kick. Was wondering how Element compares, or any other shapes/brands similar to the OG Baker shape. I've heard Deathwish, Toy Machine, and Quasi are similar...anything else?

As a Baker mellow rider, nothing compares. Just buy a Baker if you already know that one works for you.

Element is all Made in China. The two decks I’ve had in the last year are mid concave, tapered from nose to tail, and tiny little tails which are great for quick ollies but suck for most everything else.

Not all of them are made in China, new pro graphics are pressed at BBS, team / collab graphics are usually China.

Edit:
I got 3 Element 8.25 pro models (Westgate, Garcia, Daley) and they are lazer engraved on the top with "Build By BBS" and a red sticker at the bottom "Made in Mexico".

Dimensions on the 8.25s I have are:
8.25 x 31.933 x 14.307 (Nose - 6.975, Tail - 6.45)

All of the Star Wars collab boards are BBS, so I’m assuming they’re going in the direction of primarily using them going forward

To the OP; get the baker board. You’ll feel better about it

Agreed, Baker OG shapes are their own thing, if you like that shape there isn't anything like it in terms of length, wheelbase and mellowness.
