Being pro means nothing nowadays
@OG Goon, I get the whole 'pro definition is watered down' thing. But I would say don't take everything at face value. You're in the know so it's only really watered down if u reject the nuance... There's pro. Then there's "pro"; but those apostrophes are implied, so they're silent/invisible, so it's up to us to decipher.
Similarly, to the avg person, a Ben 10 setup from Walmart is a real skateboard. It's a wooden toy, it's physically tangible, and rolls on 4 wheels it is as real as can be. Little Timmy and his parents will not know it's "fake" until he works up the courage to approach Sid and the other sk8rats at the end of the culdesac, where they will eventually deliver the heartbreaking news... Ok, maybe that's a lil too anecdotal but basically;
Real recognize real. Etc, etc.
Lil Wayne is a legend, he actually skates, and the class photo has been his signature for a while. This kind of makes to put him on some boards. If someone tries out skateboarding because they got a Lil Wayne board at least it's gonna b a quality product and not some basura from the toy store.
Promotional Skateboard AF
Not Professional Skateboarder AF
Exactly!
I heard "Lil Wayne is now a pro sk8r" from some headline at of another article. One of those footer sections that sell ad space, n it's a mix of links to legit articles and links to spam/snake oil bs, so did my own search to verify [and to increase the site bounce rate + they don't get a conversion from my click, cuz these non-QC ass footers are annoying af]. Anyway I saw the headline on several news outlets... so great biz move on Thank You's part.
Is Lil Kim also Pro AF bc Supreme put her name n face on some boards? Or Pillsbury doughboi ?
Lil Wayne/Thank U thing is conceptually more of a collab, but how watered down is that word at this point?
Or maybe this is more like a guest pro model? Those seem to b more random n less based on the traditional standards of what it takes to get a pro model.
Idk let's keep an eye on that
team page tho!
