koston and berra's "100% in control" announcement may be a lie. the site is still hosted on amazon servers that point to hypebeast, who probably pays the amazon bill and likely has control of all the data. or they just have some weird setup going on

These both link to a hypebeast store for me. Maybe I’m missing something tho.

that is how hypebeast has set it when you visit their ip address directly. when you go to theberrics.com, you are getting data back that is hosted on those ip addresses

I told myself I’d get my Net+ when I started working again now it’s nine months later and I’m just fiddling around on guitar and posting on Slap instead of stacking certs.

I got the CCNA back in 2018, which is basically the equivalent to NET+ in terms of networking knowledge with some Cisco specific routing and switching stuff thrown in there. I’m personally not a fan of CompTIA’s testing style. Which is why I’ve been putting off getting the Sec+. I know info but I’m dreading the test. As of recently, I’ve mostly been stacking vendor specific certs. Like Fortinet’s NSE4 was the most recent one I got. My company has Pablo Alto firewalls so I’m working on getting certified on those. Glad to hear there’s other tech folks here

Damn! Congrats on getting the CCNA! Thats a heavy cert. i would consider doing something with a bit more weight then the Sec+. I do the CompTIA track because I get them for free through the non-profit im linked up with.

I work in IT Equipment so I get all the decommed stuff. I’ve been able to build a home lab with a cisco 2960 switch, 3940 router, and a cisco firewall but i’ve done fuck all with it.

Yeah the CCNA was not easy. Took me two tries to get it but it was worth the effort. You’re actually the second person to mention that about the SEC+. I’ve been considering just going down the CEH route since it pretty much builds off of things I learned studying for SEC+. Even started learning a little Python to diversify myself a bit.

I used to work with a lot of hardware in my last job so I feel you on that. I think I still have a few Cisco 2960s and an ASA sitting in a box in my garage. The lab does come in handy to practice for some of the simulation questions on exams though.

I did the CCNA, although my cert is long expired. I honestly don't think there's much future in Cisco in particular, but the CCNA carries a lot of weight and involves some very heavy networking concepts. Even  if no one is using Cisco by 2030, it definitely demonstrates to employers that you know how computers talk to one another and that is basically all you need to get in the door with a lot of places.

I appreciate the offer of help with the Net+, but my company will pay for all that stuff. I just have to actually do it, but it turns out that it's uhh... terminally boring, not nearly as fun as skating or playing music. And actually, now that I am working in cyber security, I should probably be turning my focus in that direction.

Ahhh… that Retsyn (copper gluconate, partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil, and flavoring) hits different in the tech sector, don’t it.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

what is life.
I read this thread and checked out the IP adress links.
ok, interesting, whatever
I posted a vid in the 'dream backyard skate spots' thread. And check the rest of the dudes channel. He has videos called PJ Ladd project granite.
It vaguely rang a bell so i decided to google it.
Of the few links came an xgames page wherein an article linking the project granite (http://www.xgames.com/action/skateboarding/article/4010024/project-granite-pj-ladd)
I click on the link and it sent me to hypebeast.

What does it all mean puleo

I did my CCNA in 2014 and have never used it in the 8-9 years I’ve been working since. But it definitely looks good to employers when moving roles, but that’s all I’ve used it for. In hindsight I probably would save my money and not bother on Cisco CERTs. But that’s just me, it was not useful for me, it could great be for someone else, I just don’t run into anyone using Cisco switches really anymore..

Good on TH, sounds like he's grown a pair and isn't having any of Berra's shit. He was simping for Berra hard for 2 years but I'm proud he stood his ground during the Berra ambush and seeing through the gaslighting and BS. His friend who tricked him into meeting Berra under the guise of lunch was a real jizz cock.

New developments:
- TH proposes a joint video for both of them to talk through each point, but Berra (naturally) doesn't want that
- Berrics and Hypebeat had weekly Monday meetings, apparently Hypebeast had zero input on Berrics content, Berrics team still had content control over, approvals are through Berra
- Berra claimed the gaming videos weren't getting enough view, by TH's recollection with screenshots he didn't reference they were doing 10k views and up on YT alone, combined 250k over all the videos
- Berra repeatedly offers to pay him off, "I don't want people to think I'm doing people wrong, I'm here to make things better, I came to apologize."
- Berra's offer to fix it was a photo together with him arm around TH, with a thumbs up and a "it's all good" caption
- They agree to meet at a restaurant to discuss options the next day at noon, but Berra ghosts him again, asking him to text him a list of "demands"
- TH texts him 1 option, Berra's response will determine what we see in the next vid
