Pros that would have had successful non-skate careers
« on: January 05, 2023, 12:46:19 PM »
What can you see certain pros having done with their lives if instead of choosing a career in skateboarding they chose something else?

I think Rodney Mullen could have made it as a teacher on some level.

Others?

Mullen has a degree in chemical engineering. He would have been an engineer; in fact he is an engineer.

Suciu isn't gonna make it as a writer, though.

Laban stands out for his work as a director.

And Stacy Peralta: Even though he wasn't what you'd call a pro, I get a weird proud skaters-around-the-world-unite feeling every time I see his name pop up in credits as producer.

Alexis Sablone - architecture MFA from MIT? Yea, her resume is set.
Richard Mulder - seem like his real estate business dealing with more expensive CA homes yields large commissions.

Stacy absolutely was a professional skateboarder, in the same sense as Tony Alva, Jay Adams, etc.

An author as well.

Most professors are authors.

Westgate it feels pretty clear could have a lot of physical / trade jobs and excel at them.

Don't think I've seen an update in a while but it seems like Matt Miller was doing well with his real estate gig.

I heard Lil Wayne could've been a famous rapper!
I dunno about artist, or if he is a pro skater but
Mike Alfred is considered in the agricultural industry as a sort of, sommelier of bull semen sampling.
Jason Lee could've been a professional actor, but instead he just made reality shows.
Just call me Daddy.
