What do you do if you see someone slam?

had this happen recently.

My friend’s girl dropped in on a bank (she’s still getting used to dropping in) and whooshes out, smacks the back of her dome so loud it was like throwing a watermelon on concrete - in this case it was plywood, but still OUCH. I immediately stopped the music we were playing since I was by the speaker, and made sure she was cool. Head injuries fuckin spook me

I can’t help but let out a loud ass “oooooh” followed by the obligatory “you good?” Even if it wasn’t bad at all.

I check on them if they don't immediately get up, otherwise I try to ignore it or grimace at them in solidarity.

I was skating this skatepark hubba once and the next thing I knew a stranger was asking if I was ok. It's good to know that random people at the park have your back if you get hurt.

if you're truly concerned about your fellow man, or just don't want to be seen as a dickhead, i've found that waiting a bit and then asking "what hurts?" instead of an immediate "are you okay?" can yield some true information...I know when anyone's asked me "are you okay?," I immediately answer that I'm okay whether I'm okay or not.

but yeah if I don't know you and I think nobody's gonna track me down, I'm probably going to just say something about concrete don't owe you shit hellride etc

Rarely are there any adults skating the local. It's usually random latch key kids from the low income housing nearby. I'll almost always ask if they're okay but I gotta check on them if it looked particularly bad. They do the same for me now it's pretty cute.

Play it by ear…if someone takes the slam well and laughs it off or gets up immediately; their friends don’t act concerned (ppl know their friends’ habits etc) etc. then nothing. If no one is around; a person doesnt get up quickly etc- then I go check on them immediately. Especially if they slam inside the Pit of Death that ate Lhotse and his Calibers.

i have repeated this often but that exact pit of death split my elbow open super bad and i bled all over the lawn of the houses across the street. it’s a gnarly bowl

Generally just mind my own business and try not to stare if I don't know them. i hate it when people stare at me after i slam

Seems like a logical jump to assume they’re not injured.  But if I somehow knew they were fine I’d just leave them alone.  The reason you ask, “you good?” is because you’re not sure, it’s not an excuse to make small talk.
