That’s extremely sad.

R.I.P. Jed Walters.

Seemed like a very nice human being and was a fantastic Skateboarder.

He had so much religious guilt and was so hard on himself. What a bummer to hear he's shuffled off.

RIP to a real one. Wish we got more footage of him but what we do have is good. Thank you, Jed.

RIP to a real one. Wish we got more footage of him but what we do have is good. Thank you, Jed.

He came through Minneapolis in 91-92 and skated with some friends of mine.  Apparently he had filmed a few clips for the little video my friends were making.  I am working on tracking down those clips and will share when/if I get them.  Also from what I gather Jed was an arborist. Apparently he was struck by a branch or tree which is how he passed away.  RIP legend.  I don't think he had any idea how loved and revered he was by my generation.

He’s the reason I (and all of skateboarding) at the time started wearing adidas campuses/gazelles.  Adidas should do a commemorative campus for him, much like they did with the shell toe for Angelides and Kareem. All proceeds go to the family.

They 100% should. Great idea.

It pains me to say this but Jed was struck and instantly killed by a large limb that broke out of a big leaf maple he was in the process of felling. He died on Friday January 20th 2023. Jed was a good friend of mine and he was a friend to many of you on here. I was talking with his oldest daughter and she mentioned how much joy Jed got out of shooting the breeze with you guys on here. I felt like you should all know.

Arborist community sharing how much of a great guy he was - one guy states that although he was not religious, whereas Jed was very much so, that he was always so welcoming.

Sorry - just saw Inspectah Deck had referenced this above.

My friend does this. Has a crazy chainsaw collection. Still kinda skates, had a halfpipe in his backyard in the 80s.

Back to Jed. Watched all the footage I could find last night... sick style. Some of his stuff reminds me of my mans Brian Lotti. Possibly the shoes too. For real though.. that kickflip pop was so sick, especially for that time.

Totally. I was just thinking this, that he started the Gazelle trend (which was really poppin' with the few skaters in my high school during Freshman year '92-'93). They're playing this on heavy rotation in skateboard paradise this week:

Wow... very touching. So awesome to see Jed doing his thing and living his best life. The world really lost a great one.

This has me thinking... Skateboarding is in my opinion, one of the hardest, if not the absolute hardest culture to have a profound impact on. Jed came in, showed everyone what's up, and then dipped. Fucking legendary.

Wow crazy, I texted a good friend of mine who is a really good skater and also is now sort of recently an arborist to ask him if he had heard about that old World Industries pro Jed Walters who died recently. He replied "You might be blowing my mind right now. Was he an arborist?" Turns out they had just talked about it at work today and he heard about it through the arborist connection. Told me he has watched a bunch of his arborist videos on YouTube. He's only 30 but definitely knows his skate history. He had seen Jed's part before but didn't make the connection.

Seems like Jed made an impact in skateboarding and arboriculture, which is pretty sick he was able to excel at a couple different things in his life.

If I’m reading this correctly, that “I love you Jed” video has almost 80 thousand views in less than 24 hours and is #35 top trending videos on YouTube.

Fuck! That really sucks! I had the privilege of watching him skate Lockwood and another time at the Wallenberg brick walls at the top of the school. Dude was amazing, skated really fast and was a super nice guy. Sad news that he passed..

I started watching a bunch of arborist videos he's in on YouTube, really good stuff.

Was sad when I heard about his death, his part in Lovechild was highly influential on our whole crew. Within a month of seeing it we all got Campus's and Gazelles, ordered them from FTC.

RIP Jed.
