I had planned on rub bricking, and maybe lacquering if I finished the first step, on this skinny ledge in front of a liquor store here in the cracked-out part of town but that did not work out. Wasn't sure if the rain would help or hinder this dusty labour-filled endeavour, so I left it for another day.

i really wish i would have went to this spot when i went to SF. i think i could grind the whole thing. if someone could please send the pin, i wasnt able to find it on street view

I try to just wax abandoned stairs, i remember one time i did one that was in current use and they just put railings up the very next day.. i was kinda glad anyway cause i remember thinking someone might slip on them.

Google San Francisco Armory.

I shit you not there is a tiny 3 stair here at a cop shop that's waxed. I'll get a pic this weekend.

i always think about how crazy it is that we wax/lacquer stairs, aka philly steps. i wonder how many non-skaters have gotten obliterated from reasonably using the stairs the way they were meant to, only to slip on the wax lmao. i'm sure it's even worse on rainy days. there's some spots i wanna get goin that involve waxing stairs but i feel like my conscious won't let me
3 up 3 down for reference

i dont think ive ever slipped on a waxed curb, before and after i started skating

by the time you finish your sesh, most of the curb's wax you just put on gets naturally taken out by your trucks so its not slippery to step on - in my experience

This. I don’t want undeserving people to get hurt but I've also never slipped on a waxed stair in my life

has anyone ever actually seen a porn star at 3 up 3 down?

it's in the mission, not in the best part of SF.  More likely to have a hooker slip on them

Considering the building is literally the kink.com headquarters, I think there's a decent chance of seeing one there.

There's more than one entrance/exit, so most likely they got sick of dodging entitled manchildren at that one and just use a different door.

Kink.com sold their part of the Armory about 5 years ago. Most of the porn industry went to Vegas or elsewhere after California put a law in place stating that anyone filming porn in the state has to use a condom.

I think there’s a huge difference between skaters vs regular people how they bail. I’ve never heard about skaters slipping out on winter and broke something while I know a lot of non-skaters who has broken arms and such when bailing on frozen flat.

These stairs get skated every so often, I once met an employee and they let me know that people would slip on the stairs often and a cleaning staff member broke their tailbone.

When i see 3 up i just think of Bieble doing a perfectly balanced nose grind all the way across that shit

Everytime I hear nose grind I think Zared. Imo He still has the greatest nose grind in skating.

3up is my dream spot. I gotta get there this year.

I wax stairs all the the time. Never seen or heard of anyone busting their asses on one of mine.

I'm a light waxer tho. I skate fast and there's no need to attract roller bladers. Back around the first X games I had a beef with a bladder who kept over waxing MY 76 stairs.
Ask anyone. I own those fucking things. I have almost 40 years of tricks on them.

I highly recommend if you come to Marblehead Massachusetts (birth place of the American Navy) you visit the spirit of 76 bookstore stairs. There's 4 in a row so it's great for lines. Don't forget to trick into the street tho.

The Warwick Theater is attached to the building so we can go see a movie after.

I wish Mark would hang out. I wanna see him skate those very badly. I think that I might die happy after that. Silly I know but Mark is the greatest skater who ever lived. I love his art very much.

Remember when he had a stunt skater in 411?
