More than stoked but who the fuck butchered this edit?

yeah that EDM second half gave me delayed fetal alcohol syndrome

If he keeps his body/health in check, he could be putting out fairly low impact footage and ledge stuff for 5+ more years at a pro level. I’d kill for another part.

Hell, just him skating a school yard with benches and flat ground tricks would be an instant classic!

I will never stop being a fan of Antwuan Dixon.
I always forget his face is literally covered with tattoos - then I see a well lit photo and it all comes back.
So so sooooo glad he's doing well and managed to come back from what was clearly a horrible path to prison and or early death.

I would say I'll buy any of his pro models but I've bought Straye shoes and they aren't great.

Anyway did he or Ellington/Reynolds etc ever shed much light on what happened between them? Kinda sucks to hear they may not have reached out to him at all.

People keep saying a Mariano comeback but I’m thinking more brandon turner. Early phenom, on the best/most hyped team in skating(was never a shortys fan), fucked around too much, figured it out and blew minds at 40.
I see big candy on that trajectory…hopefully. Either way, that dude is a one of a kind

You mean like... Guy Mariano?

Its nice to know he's doing better but skateboarding kept progressing as he was doing stupid shit all those years, Baker 3 was a lifetime ago

Deathwish should change their name to Lifewish and make their whole image about positivity vibes...like a mainland Natty Kon.

This is the kind of feel good story Skateboarding needs right now. I would love to see Thrasher do a Out There piece on Twaun that would be epic viewing.

He doesn't need to compete with current pro's, it's Antwuan. I'd gladly take clips of him doing shitty bs noseslides on curbs over no footage.

you’re right, he’s not at the level of 2023 pros. But he’s still good enough that it’s enjoyable as hell to watch him skate, not even counting the nostalgia factor or his still-flawless style

He's in the Baker - Shrimp Blunt video eating with the team at a barbecue or something.  He's posted a few times on Insta, stuff for Ellington's birthday and shit.  I dont' think they hate each other or anything.

What a bad take

Could say the same thing about Reynolds or any aging top pro

Tuan has one of the most distinct styles of all time. after baker 3 dropped there were so many skaters coming out biting his steez

In an ironic way, he suits new Baker really well IMO.
He has hands down one of the best styles of all time, and anything we get to see is a blessing. Hope he’s doing well! We are all rooting for you, Tuan!

Pro level is any level that people enjoy seeing you skate and want to support you by buying your product.  It's not like some defined metric of dexterity.  Watching Antwuan nollie heel an 8 set is as good as it gets.

That's exactly why guys like Dead Dave and Donovan Rice are pro. Skill does matter, but it is certainly not the driving factor of board sales. Marketability is mainly based on personal preference and the aestethic of the rider.
I would buy both of those guys' board any second I can

I’m always amused when people say stuff like this, as if there’s a certain bar for talent before someone can be a “pro” skater. Like he failed to win the LA Massacre and so Smash Skates is gonna take his deck away.
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

It's not what tricks you are doing, its how you are doing them. Very few have done it equal or better than Antwuan.

Skating + quitting all drugs = superpowers.
For me its was opposite. Redbull+weed used to give me a superpowers beck when i smoke weed. Then i start to get lot of anxiety and quit weed and now i suck at skating.

"He's not at pro level" is definitely not the insult that some might think it is. This thread is about his hard-fought sobriety that played out in a terribly public way. Who gives a fuck about whether he deserves to have his name on piece of wood for fuck's sake?

This. I'd rather watch Antwuan just cruising (not that he is) any day over some safety arms, red bull, monster rail shit. True style is timeless and he has it.

So, basically, you'd rather watch Antwuan cruise?

Ok did Tom Penny look stiff in Extremely Sorry at 32? Given Twuan is 34,  clean and sober, hasn't suffered any major injuries i say he's coming into his prime imho.

Penny did look a little stiff in Extremely Sorry, though…

I did think Penny has ever been sober, though. I want to see more Antwuan footage!
