i don't know when the turning point was for trasher covers but they have been on a roll the last few years. another classic
[close]

I think it’s when they realized they didn’t need text on the cover.   Advertising some AZ tour article isn’t making or breaking anyone’s decision to buy a copy
aren’t subscriber mags left blank intentionally while the ones that hit stands/shops littered with AZ tour article titles?

honestly, if we're being morbid, i have a feeling it has to do with burnett getting full editorial control.

as an aside, it's a switch tre. he posted a snippet of the clip on IG. second slide, https://www.instagram.com/p/CoQtMzcv8F6/?hl=en

i don’t think any of you are real, i think slap was invented by my mom to make me think people want to talk to me

I don’t think so.   I’ve definitely received ones with text in the past.   They started doing special photos with no text like thst Pedro Delfino one before anyone knew who he was, then they started doing it more and more in their anniversary year to now it seems almost a given

I clearly remember back then how impactful it was for my buddy and i when we saw reynolds’ backside flip thrasher cover for the first time
“Dude. Reynolds. Wallenberg. Backside flip. B&W. It only says thrasher. What the fuck! A la verga!”
We creamed so hard, as i’m sure many others did.

I just want everyone to know that I'm only 32.8% skateboarder, and that's on a good day. The rest is just soy and cum.

Burnett shoud not speak in front of a camera - but cover wise he have done an superb job. Even some interviews/ articles i see Burnetts lead behind where really good. The amount of great covers in the last years is crazy.
On the first look - I thought it’s Evan Smith - but congratulations Austin sick spot / trick / cover.
Nothing beats a fat switch tre.

So is that the 'call out'? I didn't understand why Elijah took offense or what was said. Austin didn't post "Eat your heart out, Berle" did he? Progress happens.

they don't put text on the covers anymore because a) the content has declined—just a bunch of low effort interviews, pointless tour articles like "blah blah blah the guys all slept in but we still got clips tho lol" and b) they probably don't have a graphic designer

unrelated Gillete called out Berle a while back for basically dressing like a Dylan Reider clone, Berle put that video up in response.

Gillette rips. Sick sick shot.

Berle’s clip is too stiff. He looks constipated.

Over covid I re read all my old thrashers+ they have a ton available to read online and I'll say consistently since 1990 they've had low effort interviews and pointless tour articles. For a decent amount in the 90s it's what guns do you have or what about that fight you got into

Austyn said there’s a long story behind this shot/trick in his insta caption. Wonder if it has anything to do with berle’s tre, which I also forgot about. Hopefully no bad blood or anything.

Little odd how KB did that long backtail then Austyn did it switch… berle did the tre and Austyn did it switch…

Vengeance for not getting on FA? That would be sick like Saw except instead of Jigsaw putting the industry through torture and mazes, it's Austyn doing their tricks switch and relaxing in the ballcuzzi afterwards.

If that’s what he’s up to I have mad respect. FA guys are such Prima Donnas.
