Dear German pals,

I will treat my wife to a roadtrip to the romantic Rhine castles in May. On the way there I plan to stopover in Stuggi and Frankfurt to sneak in some skate sessions.

I would be grateful for advice on mellow street spots in those cities, such as flatground, curbs, low ledges, mellow banks etc.

While we’re at it I am also looking for hotels and restaurants so thanks for any recommendations. Remember I will be with the missus so it’s not going to be just a Döner or Currywurst.

On the way back I will stop in Heidelberg to see the castle and Martin Stieber’s shop (huge Stieber Twins fan). Is there a spot in the city center where I could stretch my legs a bit?

Also am I missing out on some must see stuff on the way up there, or where I should go instead of those cities? My plans are pretty open yet except for the two days visiting the Rhine castles.

Frankfurt has a lot to offer, hauptwache is the main street spot, then theres also bocki banks, you will probably meet some locals there.
they have a pretty mellow and fun skatepark below a bridge, its called skatepark höchst
you will find a lot of good turkish food (more than just döner) in frankfurt too, but theres pretty much everything avalaible, its a big city

in heidelberg i only know the diy skatepark, that one is cool but hard to skate.

stuttgart has a big skate scene but i havent been there recently, im not sure where to skate street wise, sorry.

maybe check out würzburg, its a beatiful city with a castle and there is a super good skatepark right by the river with wineyards in sight, also dm me if you go there

I recommend the local Titus shop to connect and ask for spots and skateparks. There are other shops, but oddly enough Titus is the most „core“.

Hauptwache and Bockenheimer Warte (Bank Spot) can be found by going to the u-Bahn stations with the same name. Willy-brandt-Platz is a ledge spot where you are most likely to meet other street skaters these days. There is also an u-Bahn station with the same name.

The best skatepark now is the new one under Friedensbrücke near the main train station. If you are into tranny the Hafenpark skatepark has two large bowls.

I was asking, because I like to eat well myself and I have been living in Frankfurt for a very long time.

There are two neighborhoods known for traditional eating and drinking in Frankfurt: Bornheim and Sachsenhausen. Sachsenhausen is much more touristy and swarming with people on the weekend.

You will probably find some locals at the Landtag in Stuttgart. They will probably help you out with more info about the city.
The only foot I know from the Schwaben guys are Käsespätzle. Great when you need was deftiges..

i'll be in frankfurt on this sunday the 19th with another pal who recently moved to germany from the us... if anyone wants to link up for a little session with us hmu via dms. we're not super focused on skating on that day, but wanted to have a little session at one of the more chill skateparks for 1 or 2 hours if possible, most likely in the afternoon.
