It's definitely one of those types of shoes that looks better far away than up close. Good on him.

ē Every detail of the Gillette is considered, making it a highly functional skate shoe.

I know they're trying to justify pricing a stupid vulc at $120 but this "selling point" is hilarious.

Nice to see something different, I think they look cool. But not quite what I look for in a skate shoe personally. I hope they sell well though.

I don't have any issue with them aside from them being so damn pricy. Would love to try them otherwise.

I think it looks sick. If I didnít have a dozen pairs of skate shoes already, Iíd buy some when they are inevitably on sale for $50 come fall.
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

Chuck Taylors

This is my guess.

I feel like I go back and forth on the design. As far as something Iíd skate in, they are too expensive, and thereís too much rubber for my liking. As well, I have a history of Globes not really fitting my feet well (same goes for most SB models).

Honestly I donít see a lot of people wearing Globe footwear though I live in a small college town (which does have a pretty strong surf community). They must make a lot of money off their surf shit/clothing.

Yeah, this felt like a waste. It would have been a lot cooler to have a longer, behind the scenes style video detailing the process, the inspirations, etc. I think adidas and Busenitz did that when he got his pro model and it was really interesting to get that deep into it.

oh hell naw, $120 for these?

no thank you, ill take them when they go on sale for $45

i used to think jah's shoe was crazy priced but those actually have reasonable tech in them, these are way too simple to justify the price imo

I thought only female hairdressers between 25-35 lived in Costa Mesa.

Thatís my impression of it despite living not that far from it for 20 years

Going through 1000s of shoes over 22 years of skating would mean he was skating through, at the lowest end, 92 pairs of shoes a year, or 6+ a month. Wut?

Honestly I thought that was kinda odd. Didnít he cool guy the Chet IVís on his Nine Club interview? Seemed like he didnít know or care if it was in the current or recent lineup when they asked him. Chet IVís definitely come to mind when I think Globe. And it was recently reissued and sold out. Even Ariana Grande bought a pair.

There were those years of super thin canvas vulc shoes where they were basically disposable. I know someone who would pretty much get a new pair of gravis filters/huf classics pretty much every week so I could see Austyn wearing a new pair every session but yeah that wouldnt make up 22 years

Those are the only model I can think of when someone brings up Globe shoes. Every Chad and Ashley in high school had either a pair of Chet IV's or some D3's. I can only imagine imagine the amount of money those companies were raking in at the time.
