I love when people bring up world hunger. It makes everything meaningless.
"That guy is double parked."
"Who cares? There are people starving to death! Besides, how does that affect you? Does it lessen the joy of parking?

This was upsetting to see this morning. Also eerie to me that I posted "if you could read my mind" just the other day in "things you listened to today" thread.

RIP

The actual GOAT of Canadian music.  So inspiring in so many ways.  May he rest in peace and his music live on for centuries to come.

Just saw Jim Cuddy say "I love that he died with shows on the books" - always wanted to tour. Legend.

That's a sick quote.

He had some bangers.  RIP.

I think Neil Young might have something to say about that haha. Gordon was a legend for sure though. Has anyone ever used WOTEF for a video part? I feel like that could work surprisingly well.

I’ll take Gord over Nasally Neil but as far as influence and commercial success, I gotta admit you’re probably right.  Some other lesser known bangers everyone should listen to; Blackberry Wine, Slide On Over, Baby Get Back, Fading Away, etc.  His debut Lightfoot! is such a perfect fall album.

definitely a "they took err jobs" ballad
Bob Dylan "once I hear (lightfoot's) songs, I wish they never ceased.'

not so fun fact: some of the bodies of the Edmund Fitzgerald are still within the ship and would be more effort to retrieve (at cost being: further human loss) and are still inside the ship. the video goes in depth to what a human body looks like due to years of prolonged exposure to water and what it takes to recover such remains, brings value to the the story and provides a glimpse of how an industry the Midwest relied would claim lives on the regular.
