First time in the bay I skated 3rd and Army and got a trick I was stoked on. Ollie up the manual pads to ride on tailslide the middle and pop back up onto the end. I always liked mike york and nick mclouth doing a nosegrind through it and I thought a tailslide would be unique and cool.

Well anyways like 2 months after Louie Lopez does it in a line there after he ollied the flat gap before doing it super fast and clean. Whatever Louie. Whatever.

I’ve done a handful of other tricks at famous spots l liked, most recently got a front nose to fakie at that one DC bank spot by the us Capitol building.

I’m glad you were able to make it, to work that is.  Attendance is important to most employers.

Define famous.

International: Fakie heel on flat at Place de la Republique.

Local: Kickflip and Pop Shuv (to fakie each) on the Prime Tower banks (Zurich) and that blue fountain at that school in Schwamendingen Oli Weismantel backside flipped (over the whole thing).
why come?

no idea if it's still around but I skated it back in the day and can confirm, it was not big at all.

its at the Skydome in Toronto on the side next to the Steam Whistle Brewery. Sadly there is all grass and mini traintracks there now :(  there are more buildings that have these banks but there is all grass up to them. its possible one day that grass will get paved over. I think BMX still go there

It was hella crowded when I was there too. He wasn’t really landing anything, then I got in his way and I remember his complaining loudly about all the damn kids and thought he was talking about me. This was over 20 years ago so it’s a fuzzy memory.

I'm jealous of y'all getting to skate famous spots. The only one near me is the MLK monument in Memphis that Zered destroyed in his Vicious Cycle and the best I could muster was a bullshit nollie backside flip on the steepest bank.

Clips start around 0:39. It's not in the same spot anymore, but it was difficult as fuck to skate even when it was at this original location.

BS carve a small bench at china banks like a few others. Ollied the steps at the top of Vallejo St in North Beach, bombed down to the first intersection and tried to run out of it and ate shit. There were a few famous spots in San Diego I'd skate. I ollied that driveway gap in Pacific Beach that I remember Smolik had a sequence switch flipping. Also there's that 3 up 3 down at the san diego school district building that Markovich bluntslid across in Art Bars, I use to skate that spot all the time when I lived a few blocks away. I liked to fs lipslide across part of it and bounce down the steps in the middle like Jamie Thomas did at some spot in Thrill of it All.

I’ve backside flipped on flat at Love Park and a ton of famous spots throughout NYC, California, and Europe.

The ones I did at Oslo City Hall and Stalin Plaza were the most memorable because of how smooth the ground was.

Forgot to mention Love Park and Stalin Plaza each had a specific tile that was a half inch or so higher than the rest and I got the two highest Chinese nollies I’ve ever done on those things.
