Betta (Peru)

Ellington vibes on those first ones

Was there a Muska C1rca that did th 2 tone thing?   Or does it just kinda seem more of a Muska colorway in this context

I think there was!

I just mentally associate the two tone thing with EEs automatically

Damn and then that just reminded me of the Koston 4 or 5.  Ellington started it with the grey and red I’d think and then th white/reds came

I had the world industries version of these. Champs Sports, back-to-school super clearance, BOGOF. It was my first skating a Bad shoe.

Ellington talked about how the original Emerica Double E’s color blocking was inspired by one of Allen Iverson’s Reebok shoes. I think The Answer because if you Google it, you’ll see some colorways where the toes, sidewall, and heel are pretty sharply separated into clear sections that can be color blocked pretty distinctly.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Muska was similarly inspired.

I believe those Muska shoes got an On Video feature so maybe they discuss the inspiration in there?

Edit: Here’s the On Video link. It’s that model but I haven’t rewatched the whole thing: http://youtu.be/BFU-s8tTY5o?si=q_x_ZZBUqfLUkVYc

Got a pair of the Mute's. It is not often that I put I shoe on and like them from the first moment. My opinion might change if I wear them more often. But right now, fresh out of the box, they feel nice.

I enjoyed my two pairs before I got into the KSL III (which sits on the same cupsole). They’re both very skateable and comfortable for a wide foot. Durability of the sole is impressive and mine have lasted long with some obligatory super glue on the stitching

Well I won't keep them. All in all, they feel a bit too much padded, especially around the ankles. But I am also in shoe madness hell.

Dang, wishing you luck finding the right shoe for you. I bounced around a lot but have been trying to keep shit somewhat consistent lately when I find something that works. FWIW the KSL III feels much the same since it sits on the same cupsole, but it is less puffy

or if you can find your size in the ksl G6 on shoplurker or eBay, that would probably be the cure. best shoe they've put out since the reynolds g6.

I don’t like promoting sites that aren’t from skate shops, but these are getting harder to find. 5.5-10.0 for $39 directly from Emerica for a couple days:
https://emerica.com/products/ksl-g6-black?variant=40927375589558

I wish they would just sell their shoes for cheaper to shops instead of selling directly, considering everything gets heavily discounted within a season or two. The shoes would sell better at shops as budget shoes if they kept it in the $50-80 range. At the moment, I don’t get why any shop would want to stock Sole Tech.

nice, I forgot they were still selling those on their site direct. I remember ordering my size and the shipping was a nightmare. sole tech does actually move pretty good depending on where you're at, the puff is hot right now. my local got a bunch of size 9 samples for super cheap from their rep and they flew. meanwhile blazers, janoskis, GT's just sit. everything's cyclical.

I tried some Marana Michelin and my toes were overlapping. The same thing happened with the Heritic, but the Mute was alright. I’m thinking it might have to do with the amount of padding and the layer around the toe areas which make them more rigid. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Even the Busenitz shoes, CONS LLP2 and Nyjah 4 felt okay after a couple minutes of wearing them, despite those all looking narrower.

I think I had a similar issue with the toe thing. Had an old pair of Romero laced in 9.5 that felt great. Bought 2 pairs when they were on sale a while back. Finally forced myself to stop skating them because on my left foot the toes I guess overlapped like some are saying. That was just one of the pairs the other one I hadn’t tried on yet to see if it was the same fit. But yea these felt like they never truly broke in

I like em! Will I buy & skate them? Not likely, because I like a thicker shoe. The paneling & stitching look like they could do some pleasing contrast colorways. Similar to that 440 V2 contrast or the Dilo Pro (both black/white)

Leo is rad and I hope these win folks over better than the flop of the "Skater" model

been waiting for that toe shape to come back to the lineup. reminds me of Westgate CCs. I typically run simple cupsoles so those look up my alley.

I just got the moca’s and I think they have a much thinner insole? I’ve already tossed out my slip ons and hoban’s, but I remember them being substantially thicker. They used to be similar to popcush, now they’re more similar to last resorts or cons (I’d say either equal or thinner than those). I guess you could argue it’s better for boardfeel, but it doesnt seem like it to me.

Also, I much prefer the other tread they use on vulc shoes - this triangle one just feels mushy/gummy. I do prefer the single vulc wrap though over the double. Nitpick here, but the laces are super budget, will rip very easily. The silhouette fits really nice, but other than that unless you’re intent on supporting this brand, they can’t compete at their price. They feel like a straye shoe more than a vans, cons, or even their own better quality shoes.
