@DarkPools with another perfect summation of my (and likely many others’) feelings on Emerica.

The oncoming death of the pour-in G6 cupsole, coupled with the seemingly wide enough width of those brown Reynolds 480’s - is lighting my path away from SoleTech and over to the (somewhat ironically) greener pastures of #

Once I’m finished with the KSL’s I have on hand, I could be fully done.

But if the 480’s prove too narrow, I may be left with no other options than the Josl1n.

What’s wrong with the Josl1ns? They are pretty much the best skate shoe.

Not very fond of their appearance, nor do I particularly wanna wear a Chris Joslin shoe… but ultimately the fit/quality matters most so I may end up there.  Also the little paw print logo bugs me, but whatever.  # have big N’s stitched on the side, which I don’t mind- but can appreciate that others might not like them either.

As far as Figgy and his .02 - he said they took the Figeuroa upper and put it on the G6 sole. For anyone that's a fan of the original, it should fit almost identical just with a thicker sole under your feet.

Really sucks to hear the Dakotas aren't gonna be coming out in the intended form and instead were getting some cheaper out bastardized version of it for the hell of just giving him a shoe. I would honestly be happier if Emerica trimmed the fat of their shoe line and just had like 6-7 dedicated models. 4 classic shoe silhouettes and 2 new/tech shoes and 1 throwback og classic shoe.

Just an appreciation post but I’m skating the figgy g6s right now and man what a great fuckin shoe. Nice low profile suede upper on an incredible midsole 👍 out of all the g6 cupsoles I hope emerica permanently keeps the one in the lineup

Pretty stoked on the Figgy G6. Picked these up along with another pair of the Spanky G6 (before I can no longer find them in my size).

Built really well and the internal sockliner in great. Obviously the pour-in sole is theeeeee best.

One of my locals just threw all Emerica shoes on sale for $39.99. Are they hurting badly right now or what's the deal? Note that TM stopped posting when he couldn't control the situationlmao.

I don't want anyone or any company to fail and have been critical of Emerica, but have to give props to @EmericaTM for continuing to ignore the negativity and engage with us on this forum. They don't have to do it, but between them and the NB folks it is great that we have access to people inside the company to get the specific nerdy info we can't otherwise. Hopefully thinks are OK despite whatever hiccups are going on.

Last I heard/saw on here it was delayed from holiday 2023 to holiday 2024, so SU 24 is one drop too early. Hopefully that's true and they weren't dropped.

We'll see though. I've been pushing them hard to people, personally. Online/in person where it makes sense. Who knows if any of this from all of us that do enjoy the shoes is enough to keep the momentum going for their G6 models.

I feel like people just wanna shit on soletech because of one bad experience but will look past one bad experience from the big brands and still praise them. I see people on IG in certain posts with this sentiment. Clutching their pearls that Emerica sucks but will skate shitty LRAB shoes without a blink of an eye.

Marketing does wonders and LRAB has a very relevant take on their ads and the kind of skaters they choose to sponsor. They kind have the same vibe of choosing very similar guys (slappy, manuall guys, quirked out) as emerica (handrail, gaps, etc and winkowski) but it isn't a problem for them yet since it's still in vogue.

Hey I was in the same boat, I had issues with Soletech and hated them pretty openly. I have a different perspective based on additional experiences since that time and I have to say that Soletech has some pretty good models within their lineup.  The Marana, Gamma, and Joslin are all decent shoes. That being said, from a cultural standpoint Emerica and Soletech is lagging. They're out of touch with most of today's younger skaters. I live in a fairly populated metropolitan area and travel a lot, I've never once seen a pair of Emerica on someone's foot. Regardless of however good the quality might be, there are a lot of mediocre models that flood the marketplace that have seriously harmed their reputation. In this day and age nobody needs more companies pumping out cheap product and just creating more waste. Selling shoes for $20-30 comes at a cost somewhere in the food chain. There is a feeling many shops are going to close up in the next several years as a result of products sitting on the shelves. Products in this industry have to speak for themselves. I've never walked into a skateshop and been sold on a new product by an associate. Nothing about soletech stands out on a wall of a hundred other shoes.

That being said, I think Last Resort is a garbage shoe and generally they don't hold up well. However, as a byproduct of who created their company and their team, they've gained traction and popularity in the skate world.

Just pulled the trigger on a pair of KSL G6 and the Phocus G6. Ive been curious about the KSL for sometime and am exited to try them out. Ive been on a bit of an Ed Templeton bender lately and the Phocus kind gives me a Templeton Pro model vibe. Maybe its just the rubber toe... The Omen Hi in Olive gives me a similar feeling, very reminiscent of the Tempster or one of his later models.
Anyway... Give Ed a colorway of something please.

Edit: got bored at the shop, so I drafted up a few Templeton inspired color ways of the Phocus G6 just for kicks Note: my skills are pretty mid, no idea how those other make these things look so real.. any way

Moe, that blue one is easily a standout colorway that they could legitimately release. I'd go as far as saying it could be a good Toy Machine blueprint ( ) for an actual collab with Jeremy Leabres leading the advertising. @EmericaTM , shoot him some royalties if it ever comes to fruition hahahaha

I love blue/navy shoes so maybe I'm a little biased.

The Phocus looks off to me in the basic black & white colors they launched.  It's a tech shoe and the colors kinda need to match that loud energy, imo. However, maybe they need to do more monochromatic colors: all gray, all black, all navy, all brown, etc. and that satisfies a happy medium between simple & loud?

Digging the creativity of sketching these up! I see the Templeton inspiration more now than I previously did using only my imagination.

I think some of the others use Sketchup, CAD, Photoshop/Illustrator or something along those lines from what i saw in comments on IG. It's incredible what some of those folks can cook up with their skills!

If the phocus just did the toe cap under the vamp like they do on the Dickson I’d be wearing the phocus now. It still don’t look bad I don’t think. I’m sure I’ll skate them eventually. But that would be the thing holding me back from doing it now. They’ve grown on me. Especially the white ones look good.
