@GumOnMyGrip , definitely agree. I remember watching Join, Or Die on Repeat when it came out and 5BNY was on the same level.
watching the lineups for these videos is insane, they held down so many AM riders that got more recognition years later (like Trahan, Kevin Rodrigues... even Ben Chadourne). 5boro is the farm team. Not to mention dozens of NY legends like Gonyon who never really were pushing for a traditional pro career, but did do some of the most fucked tricks on NY spots to date (like Gonyon backside flip the flushing fountain).
Tombo seemed to avoid some of the NY music cliches too, adding some rock and punk in there to contrast with the boom bap.
living in NY now I will say it is a little strange to have multiple videos of like, subway and the manhattan skyline b-roll. it's a little on the nose. but it doesn't get in the way at all and other parts, like Gonyon skating through ridgewood at the start of his part, are a little more subtle
