Spin dice like Rob Welsh

At the start of his Ryde or Die part he spins a die on his thumb, wtf is going on in the clip and how do you spin it like that? I can do a basketball on my finger but the dice blows my ming

It takes a very well balanced dice with sharp edges like casino dice, not rounded edges like store bought.
Hold it very gently between your thumb and pointer finger and either blow on it or carefully flick it.
In theory if you got it balanced good enough and spinning fast enough, you could remove your pointer finger and let it spin freely on your thumb kinda like spinning a basketball.
