Does anyone know why Nike is discontinuing the Shane O’Neill shoes?

They’re the best shoes I’ve ever skated. I can’t believe they’re discontinuing them and the Janoskis. I felt like they were doing well. I’ve seen way more Shane’s out and about than Nyjah’s or Ishod’s.

I assume Nike wants to put more shine on the newer Pro shoes (like the Ishod and the future Leo Baker shoe)? Also, blazers are pretty popular and most of the Nike riders who skate vulc shoes are typically in blazers

aren’t they bringing the janoski back? the shane was basically the same shoe with different paneling, it served the same purpose while being uglier. maybe they’re making space for the janoski comeback

Probably because sales stagnated and they can bring them back in five years and hype them up.

I’d buy janoskis if they were available in anything other than that multicolor thing they got. They even brought back the cork insole and leather laces after 15 years. Sucks for Shane though. He deserves a shoe more than janoski anymore. Kids don’t even know who the hell janoski is , a crime , though such is the case when you don’t film a part for a decade.

I skated pretty much only Janoskis for over ten years. The Shane was not the Janoski substitute I wanted it to be. It fit different. The toe was rounder.

With that being said, I think that shoe just hit a ceiling. The Janoski is slowly being reintroduced. I’d imagine they don’t need a Shane and a Janoski on the market at the same time.
