Moved to London
« on: June 06, 2023, 12:41:41 PM »
Hi Pals,
I’ve moved to London (North West-ish area) in the last few weeks and feeling very lucky with this weather and keen to get back on board after not skating for the past 3 months or so.

Hoping to head out for a skate this weekend.
Any tips on best parks about?
Seems like Mile End is a solid pick.
Also be great if there’s any crew that would be happy to have me roll with them.

I’m 30 from Australia and I’m easing into the era of broken, low impact skater.

Cheers!

Hey mate, I skate in london with some homies in the weekend too, Mile End is a solid pick, but quite far from you l, maybe Bay Sixty 6? Royal Oak if you’re feeling chill… I love to skate in Oxhey plaza, it’s in Watford, a bit further NW outside london. Check it out

Not sure how far Acton skatepark is from you but that's got loads of mellow lines and a fairly wide range of locals too. Used to skate it a fair bit when I lived west.

Bay 66 is great especially the old man night and everyone there is pretty cool
(last Friday of the month)

I'm not in London so much now due to work otherwise I'd def invite you out to a sesh!

Cheers @Mansymbols and @Nose_chip for replies! Apologies for late on my end.

- Acton park: Been these twice now. Good fun park. That bank to curb is solid to mess around on and the mini is nice too.
- Cantelowes park: Been once. Quite liked it, nice locals there too.
- Stockwell Park: Been once. Love how smooth it is and obviously iconic. Tough one to skate though, my transition skills lacking.
- Clapham Skatepark: Again once, was actually bit of fun but that ground is pretty well worn.

I'm going to check out Mile End this saturday I think. I know it'll be a popular one but feel like I'm a bit more warmed up to give it a go.

If you hit Mile this Saturday try to go early. It tends to get super busy by about 12-1pm with all the local rippers and/or half the pros in London.
