I like the new Antwuan, less doh doh doh, more mature and quiet skateboard killer it seems from his instagram. Incredible if he can stay sober etc. but I wouldn't judge him if he relapsed. it is so hard to stay on your lane when it's so easy to access and old patterns can easily show up. Very inspirational.

I'd really rather see Antwuan do noseslide variations than the majority of other skating, but the absolute best is when he deviates from his expected bag of tricks (i.e. the fs flip in the post above)

I guess i was wrong about him being in SLS before.

If I understand correctly it’s basically a qualifying event for the rest of the SLS tour. You win SLS select, you earn a ticket to compete in the other stops with Yuto, Nyjah, Kelvin, etc.

Why they had this event after their first official stop in Chicago is beyond me.

When I saw he was gonna be in it I knew he wouldn't really have a chance at winning (obviously) but hoped he'd at least throw down a few of his classic bangers, maybe hit a nollie heel back noseslide bigspin out on the hubba in the single trick section.
That was just kinda sad, and I can't imagine the pressure he felt after getting so much hype and press.
