Probably for viewership and attention. Like the guy or not (I don’t personally care much for his skating) but he’s gonna get people to tune in and draw attention. Saw him at Tampa last year and he got a huge roar and ovation from the crowd. Also seems to gain a lot of views on YouTube in videos he’s in.

I recall they had a video where they played like 5 games of SKATE in a row and it was pretty even, but Griffen won the "official" game.
