Asics Containment Thread
« on: July 06, 2023, 12:38:00 PM »
Figured since the release is tomorrow we might as well make one of these-
it looks like from Premier's instagram that the first shoes releasing will be the Japan Pro, Aaron Pro, Gel-Flexkee, and Gel-Vickka.

I honestly think we should stop with all these separate shoe threads. It's not like the Asics discussion on the new shoes thread was getting out of hand like the Emerica one was. Plus, Asics doesn't release shoes at a rate that would require it's own discussion just yet.

since the thread is still here i might ask some regarding asics at least:

Any word on them when the will be available in europe or who they got for distributing them around here?

might as well take some time till they got that set up though i think

The Nike containment makes sense, and I'm fine with the Emerica thread for insider EmericaTM info, but otherwise containment threads STINK.

I am personally glad there is an Asics containment thread, when I saw these came out I came to slap to find a specific place where these can be discussed with others, and that is exactly what this thread is. I suggest that if you don't like a thread, don't open it and read it. Why does it matter that much to you that another thread on top of the heaps of other probably more useless threads exist?

With that said, I'm looking forward to trying these. I've wanted a shoe for a while that has thread holes that run diagonally away from the kickflip area, so it's cool that a shoe like that is getting a large scale release, even though the Gel Flexkee looks weird as hell. I also want to try the Clearweather shoe that has the same thing going on with the laces except for that it's basically an Era ripoff. Those also look weird but would probably skate well

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

If their skate shoes are as good as their running shoes, I'll be stoked. I've been using them for years and they're the best for my feet personally. I'll definitely grab a pair when they're available in Canada, but it'll be hard to beat NB 440s and 508s for me, but I'll give them a go for sure. Hope my local shop carries them though, otherwise it might just be one pair and then back to NB...

With their first skate video being called TOTAL ACTUAL COMFORT, they better be comfy. Just sayin'

I bought a pair today, the cream ones. They fit decently wide and maybe a tad large, but have good heel protection. They feel like a slightly thicker 440, which is great.

The black/white ones felt narrower in the toe and thinner up front sorta like a toned down Busenitz.

I’ll chime in on the aaron pros. They’re wide enough, specifically in the midfoot. My feet bulge out like an eggplant, and they’re snug but it feels like these will stretch out just fine especially because they’re vulcs. Generally i can tell right away if shoes are gonna work for me, and these feel fine- slight discomfort but no pain

Ironic that most everyone is hating on the GEL-FLEXKEE PRO but it's the one that's selling the best. At least at my local. Plus almost sold out at 510 & Atlas too. I like to see it.

i think that shoe is nice. i’m another thread someone called it an ‘e-cue’, i liked that shoe too. i’d for sure get some.
also, to those speaking on the price….shit is more expensive now, fucking etnies cost $100+, and yes, you can probably go daddy boardworks some lynx zeros for $6 using stackable coupon codes, but milk, screws, gas, housing, all costs significantly more.
tbc, i’m not a fan of high prices. l appreciate items being made in the least harmful ways, and would pay more for less (this isn’t connected to asics, i don’t know what they do). rambling here but the prices don’t seem high to me.

almost selling out could also mean they ordered less of that model. i don't work at those shops so i don't know, but that would be my first assumption on a shoe like that, specifically because of its unique design
if it is indeed their best seller, then we will be seeing more shoes like it
