I have a few insoles all are Superfeet. Normally in 440 I use the Run Comfort, which has a structured heel cup. Those gave me really bad ankle pain in the Japan so I switched to the Adapt Run, which is thinner but better foam and a less structured heel cup. Those have been pain free, but there's still heel drop like a Busenitz which I don't like.

There isn't much in the way of rear foot midsole padding. It's a very stiff lattice like structure with a tiny layer of foam over the top. This is why my heel actually sits lower in a Tiago.

Ugh thank you for this post the lattice structure and thin foam construction makes a total no buy for me now.

It's not bad necessarily but there isn't as much actual cushion as you'd expect for the thickness.

Have you tried putting tiago insoles in there? I run them in all my shoes. Thin but cushy and not flat

Asics Japan Pro

I went TTS and they feel pretty good. I think I could maybe go 0.5 down for a more snug fit, but I swapped the insole (which is glued down btw) with superfeet which resulted in much better secure fit

overall, very pleased with this purchase  8)

what pants are those g?
Dickies 874 sized up. I was sitting on a bench when I took this pic btw. They stack nicely on top of the shoes and I don't think I would ever cuff them while wearing the asics

Right, i just thought you were looking for something that wasn’t so high at the back.

Reading your comment about the lattice structure under the insole was disappointing. At those prices I expected a little more tech under the hood.

I get Remind's Medic insole. How does Superfeet compare to that?

I hated my Remind insoles honestly they were terrible and I still got heel bruises.

Superfeet is great but has a confusing amount of options. For skate shoes I look at the various "Run" insoles like Adapt Run, Run Comfort, and Run Pain Free I think it's called. They have different levels of heel cup structure, thinner foam than Remind but it absorbs impact very well, good arch support, and they brace the rear of the arch.

Having tried 4 different super feets, I settled on the Flex: https://www.superfeet.com/en-gb/flex

They're what superfeet recommends for 'active' use (I use them for skating and working out).

I like the looks of this line (I'm a fan of the Mexico 66s for years now); but I've soooooo many shoes to burn through.

The Flex would be a great Pop Cush replacement for Vans.

Cool. I might try them. I’ve had to start using Remind for arch support more than impact (I’m not jumping down stuff and skate cupsoles anyway) and the Medics fit my feet pretty much exactly. Even went to a podiatrist and she said those seemed to fit my feet well enough that I could use those over custom insoles, especially since skating in them will wear them out fast so customs will get really expensive. But it looks like Superfeet might be even more affordable so if I can find the right ones with the right arch shape, I might move over. I’ll do some more research when I need a new pair and give them a shot.

The problem I had with Reminds is the forefoot was too thick and the foam still bottomed out in the rear foot and allowed my ankles to cave in.

I was lucky enough to score on the dime asics as a local shop had a raffle. from what I saw online, I think the green pair is just F&F

The Flex is sooooo thin compared to the popcush; I've tried it, you swim in Vans that use it.

Oh weird. Mine have compressed and lost shape pretty even throughout but good to know because if you haven't had that issue with Superfeet, maybe mine would stay even more sold for longer. I'll do some browsing. Thanks all!

I saw a guy wearing a pair skating Pier 7 last sunday. He did a nice backside 180 fakie manual on the block. But then he tried a switch fs flip like 4 feet in front of my kid's open stroller and I was kind of annoyed because if he'd looped out his board would have blasted her in the face. I never understood the appeal of trying shit in the middle of pedestrian traffic.

Anyone know if they’re gonna restock the first colors with the new ones? Probably shouldn’t have slept in the black with the white soles.
