didn't know those facts about how lower manhattan was expanded. is it skate stopped right now? haven't been there in a couple months and last time it was.

also wondering this because it appears to not be during the filming of this video, but who knows if that was recent. last time I was there was in August and it was skatestopped then

Obvs they can't include every trick ever but Ryuhei's back rail to fakie manny maybe should have been mentioned if they wanted to show all the different ways people have skated the spot.

Says “beveled” a dozen times but can’t look up that his wife’s name is “Julia Dent Grant”. Audio mixing on this one was especially bad too. Still great and interesting stuff as always. Really love this series. Was expecting a Flushings ep so this was a nice surprise.

Didn’t appreciate the Grant slander either.   A lot of the bad things people think about him, being drunk, and his administration come from Southern slander post-war.   I think he was actually one of our better presidents

He looks kinda smallish in clips and whatnot.

I preferred that 'favourite spot' ep quartersnacks did some years ago. This one was kind of a snoozer, i feel like he should stick to more plaza'esque/landmark spots.

The beveled/ sharp ledge edge history was fun though

Maybe he's 12 ft 3?

The words that come to mind for me in connection with this spot are "Dick" and "Rizzo".

Enjoyed this one just as much as any of the others. This spot has so much mystique to me I think based on its aesthetics but mostly because it just seems so scary in a unique way. The perfect place for tech skaters to show their cajones

I'm not sure there's enough history/ lore to do an ep on the sombrero.

Seriously some skate Mandela effect. Never even noticed it before but can't unsee it now, kinda ruined a lot of those clips looking back.

Idk, man. I feel like having that mosaic statue in front of it adds to just how difficult it is to skate the spot. All factors (the ground, bevels, mosaic, drop, etc.) are what make the spot fascinating, imo.

Another gem. I can't believe Rizzo even tried that bs nosegrind back 180 out the first time with the car basically blocking the rollaway.

Will be interesting to see if he got neuralized by the Men In Black or not when doing the Flushing history.   We will know if he doesn’t mention Edgar or that those are space ships

Thought the same thing, I wish he made that one because I can't even really imagine the rollaway

Precisely why he's a pro skater paid to put his body on the line on a regular basis. And I'm just an average Joe who after who after 20 years still struggles with consistent kickflips.
