HVW is a safer show to go on than TNC. Hawk has a ton of goodwill especially with The Gonz's. Ellis, not as much, but the vert dudes still like him, and comedians like him apparently. Fanbase is mostly old heads and use to skates, who wont complain or push back

A Rocco or theibeu would do HVW before do TNC.

I actually enjoy Jason Ellis quite a bit depending on the guest. The dudes like a badass gone teddy bear, still got the bark but slowly losing the bite. Seems like he'd be a sick uncle to have, would probably give you your first beer, and then show you how to shotgun it.
There's episodes where he really carries the conversation and keeps it interesting. The juxtaposition between his and Tony's personality is fun to watch. I didn't know much about him prior to watching the pod, but honestly, I back the fucking guy.

Count me in on the Jason Ellis guilty pleasure list.  I can’t explain why, possibly it’s just the Australian accent (I do cuddle in bed with my Blue Healer every night). Listening to the Steve Hawk episode today was actually enjoyable. Someone please focus me before this gets worse.

But you can add Gonz to the list with Rodney, HK, and Koston of people who did Hawk vs Wolf and not The Nine Club. I’d imagine these people have a closer relationship with Tony and know if the convo gets slow it’s not gonna be dragged on for hours.
